Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You successfully covered all parts of the prompt. You gave information about the new theatre, mentioning its location near Mall Road in Mohali, cost-effective deals, and amenities such as a huge screen and comfortable seating. You clearly invited the actor by asking them to attend for about an hour and explaining the purpose of the event. Furthermore, you explained why they would be a great person to open the theatre, citing their ability to inspire people and their kind nature. The tone is appropriately polite for a formal letter to a celebrity, and the ideas are extended well. Your response meets all requirements of the task efficiently, earning a solid band score.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
Your letter has a clear overall progression. You organized your thoughts into appropriate paragraphs, starting with the invitation and venue details, moving to the logistical request, and finishing with your reasoning and a polite sign-off. Cohesive devices are generally used effectively, such as 'However' to signal a contrast regarding their busy schedule, and 'Since' to introduce the justification. However, the connection between sentences could be slightly smoother in places, and the transition into the final paragraph feels a bit abrupt. Paragraphing is handled sufficiently, and the opening and closing salutations follow standard conventions, although the sign-off capitalization contains a minor mechanical slip ('SInce'). Overall, the logical structure makes the letter easy to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You demonstrated an adequate to good range of vocabulary suitable for a formal business-style invitation. Phrases such as 'grand opening', 'busy schedule', and 'work commitments' show appropriate lexical control. You also attempted some less common items like 'ethereal views', although the collocation here is slightly unnatural for a modern cinema. There are a few minor vocabulary and phrasing slips, such as 'cost effective deals' (which should ideally be hyphenated or phrased as 'cost-effective pricing') and 'contributed largely for' (which is better as 'contributed largely to'). Nevertheless, the vocabulary is varied enough to convey your precise meaning without causing any communication breakdown.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
Your writing displays a good mix of simple and complex sentence structures. For instance, you successfully used complex clauses in sentences like 'I understand your busy schedule due to your work commitments towards entertainment' and 'we decided to invite you for the opening because you never fail to inspire people around you'. Most sentences are grammatically sound, though there are a few minor errors, such as the subject-verb agreement in 'it provide the cost effective deals' (should be 'provides') and a capitalization slip in 'SInce'. Punctuation is generally controlled, and despite these occasional slips, the majority of your sentences are accurate and do not impede communication in any way.
