Dear Mr. Saranga,

Hope you are doing well!. I am writing to invite you to our new theatre openning ceremony as a chief guest.

The new theatre is located in city which is the first 4G theatre in this area. It was started to build the theatre in three years ago and this is the time to open this to public. One important thing of this theatre is this is very specious than others.

I am really glad to invite you to open the theatre. The location and time will be informed you after your cofirmation of participation.

We decided you for this special occation because as a film producer and a popular actor you can make this event more especial.

Thank you so much. Hope to hear you soon.

Kind regards,

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt by giving information about the new theatre, extending an invitation, and explaining why the recipient is a good choice to open it. However, some ideas remain limited and under-developed, such as the details regarding the theatre itself. Furthermore, the length requirement is not met, as the response contains only 133 words, falling short of the 150-word minimum specified for the task. To reach a higher band, the writer needs to expand on the ideas with more elaboration and ensure the minimum word count is strictly satisfied.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The text demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear letter format, opening with a standard salutation and closing appropriately. Paragraphing is utilized to separate different points, such as the introduction of the theatre, the invitation details, and the justification for choosing the actor. However, referencing and transitions are sometimes basic or mechanical, such as the repetitive use of 'this theatre' and 'the theatre'. Cohesive devices are minimally sufficient rather than flexibly managed. To progress, the writer should employ a wider and more natural variety of cohesive links and referencing pronouns to ensure smoother progression between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate for the task, allowing the message to be conveyed. There are noticeable lexical errors, such as 'openning' (spelling), 'specious' instead of spacious, 'cofirmation', and 'occation', alongside awkward phrasing like 'started to build the theatre in three years ago'. These errors and spelling mistakes reflect a basic word-choice capability that can occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. To achieve a higher band, the writer must expand their lexical range, incorporate less common vocabulary with correct collocations, and eliminate spelling and word-form errors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writing relies on a limited range of sentence structures, primarily simple sentences combined with basic complex attempts. There are frequent grammatical and punctuation errors that cause difficulty or sound unnatural, such as 'openning ceremony as a chief guest', 'It was started to build the theatre in three years ago', 'open this to public', and 'Hope to hear you soon' missing a preposition. Verb forms and tense usage also show instability. To move up, the writer needs to demonstrate a better mix of structures with greater accuracy, ensuring that verb tenses, prepositions, and article usage are controlled.
