Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You successfully cover all parts of the required task. You give information about the new theatre by mentioning its location opposite the Alpha mall, security arrangements, and food options. You clearly invite the actor to open the venue, and you explain why she or he is a suitable person by highlighting their charitable work and popularity as a mentor. However, some ideas remain under-developed. For instance, the details regarding the theatre's facilities and the explanation of why the actor is a good choice are somewhat brief and could be extended with more specific descriptions to fully satisfy the higher band level.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

Your letter has a coherent overall arrangement, and you make an attempt to structure your message using distinct paragraphs for introduction, details, invitation, and closing. However, the progression and logical flow are sometimes disrupted by mechanical or faulty cohesion. For instance, the transition between introducing yourself and discussing the theatre is abrupt, and referencing is not always completely clear, such as the sudden shift into discussing security and food options. Additionally, paragraphing is somewhat irregular, as evidenced by the repeated salutation in the second paragraph, which impacts the overall organizational control.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common words and phrases such as 'childhood idol' and 'dignity'. However, your response contains a noticeable number of spelling, word-choice, and word-formation errors that detract from the writing. Examples include 'greatful' instead of grateful, 'opprtunity', 'interduce', 'planed', 'Amrister', 'arrangments', 'sitting' instead of seating, 'enterance', 'menture' instead of mentor, and 'thankfull'. These errors do not completely prevent communication, but they highlight limitations in your lexical control.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as conditional structures like 'if you will come' and relative clauses like 'which is going be right opposite'. However, your writing features frequent errors in grammar and punctuation. There are issues with verb forms and tenses, such as 'I hope you are going great', 'is going be', and 'how you helped for needy people's'. You also make errors with prepositions and articles, including 'for grand opening' and 'so many other's people'. These errors in grammar and punctuation persist throughout the response and occasionally require the reader to slow down.
