Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three required points: you describe the theatre’s location and launch details, make a clear invitation for Mr. Khan to perform the opening, and explain that your past successful projects make him a suitable guest. The specific date, time and dinner arrangements help make the invitation concrete. The explanation of his suitability is enthusiastic, but it relies mainly on praise such as “biggest superstar” and “your name itself is enough”; a more developed reason, such as his influence on audiences or connection to the company’s films, would make the case more convincing. The theatre information also contains a location inconsistency: it is described as being in Vile Parle and then in “harbour lane” in that suburb. The main task is fulfilled, though some points need clearer development.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a recognisable progression: company background and theatre announcement, venue and event details, then the invitation and reasons for choosing the actor. Paragraphing supports this overall arrangement, and phrases such as “In above context” and “Moreover” signal transitions. However, some links feel mechanical or unclear. “In above context” does not naturally connect the opening to the venue details, while the final paragraph repeats the point about past projects and successful films rather than advancing the explanation. The shift from “you” to “you and your team” is also not fully explained. Use simpler, more direct transitions and make each paragraph add a distinct point to create smoother progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of formal and promotional vocabulary, including “immense pleasure,” “consecutive projects,” “blockbuster movies” and “matter of pride.” These choices suit the celebratory purpose, but several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, which limits precision: “20 jubellie years,” “opening for our new theatre,” “gran opening,” and “shook up the whole film industry.” Spelling errors such as “Inaugration” and “jubellie” also affect the impression of control. Some praise is repetitive, particularly “biggest superstar” and “largest superhits.” Prefer established collocations and precise wording—for example, “20th anniversary,” “grand opening,” and “has had a major influence on the film industry.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple statements and longer structures, including “It would be a matter of pride for our company to get our new theatre inaugurated…” and a sentence explaining the planned event. The intended meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “I am vinit shah senior marketing head” needs punctuation and an article or clearer apposition; “our company is completing 20 jubellie years into entertainment industry” has an awkward tense and missing article; and “the largest superhits which film industry have ever seen” has agreement and clause-structure problems. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, especially after sentence openings and around the direct question. Aim for complete, well-punctuated sentences and check articles, verb agreement and sentence boundaries.
