Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Mahesh Babu,
I am writing this letter regarding the our company has a plan to start a brand new theatre in the hyderabad soon and I would like to you as cheif guest to do the honours.
I will like you share a quick overview of the new theatre looks like, it has mutliple screens specially two 70 mm screens and one ultrawide screen which has super cinematic experience and last screen has less capacity to organize a coporate emoployees in group or to run a special show for the fans.
I have discussed with my colleagues, my founder and decided to invite you as a chief guest on the occasion of grand opening on upcoming friday and I request to do the honours. In addition to this we have also requested a special security which will be escorted from your home to the new theatre.
As far as I concerned, selecting you would be great as you had huge success on the recent movie you acted which was sensational hit and have a majority fan base, you are an ideal role model for many people.
Kind regards,
Shiva

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three required points: you describe the theatre’s screens and intended uses, invite Mahesh Babu to the opening, and explain his popularity and role-model status. These details make the letter relevant and the invitation clear. The explanation of why he is suitable is less fully developed, however: the recent film’s success and his fan base are mentioned, but you could connect these more explicitly to the theatre’s launch and the audience it hopes to attract. The opening arrangements also need clearer practical details, such as the date, time, or what you would like him to do at the event. The response covers the task well overall, but some ideas remain general or under-explained.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter follows a sensible overall sequence: it introduces the purpose, describes the theatre, makes the invitation, and then gives a reason for choosing the actor. Paragraph breaks help distinguish these stages, and phrases such as “In addition to this” and “As far as I concerned” attempt to guide the reader. Some connections are mechanical or unclear, though. For example, the theatre description combines screen specifications and possible uses in one long sentence, while “I have discussed with my colleagues, my founder and decided” does not clearly show how the ideas relate. Use clearer sentence boundaries and more precise linking, and ensure references such as “last screen” have an unmistakable antecedent. This would make the progression smoother and cohesion less noticeable.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “multiple screens,” “grand opening,” “special security,” and “fan base.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “ultrawide screen” and “role model.” However, several spelling errors and inaccurate word choices reduce precision: “cheif,” “mutliple,” “coporate,” and “emoployees” distract from the message, while “special security” is not a natural way to describe an escort arrangement. Some phrases are also awkward, including “super cinematic experience” and “a majority fan base.” Proofread spelling and learn common collocations for invitations and events; more natural phrasing would make your vocabulary more effective and flexible.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and the reader can generally follow the intended message. However, errors occur across the response and sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to interpret. Examples include “regarding the our company has a plan,” “I would like to you,” and “I will like you share,” where sentence structure and verb patterns are faulty. There are also problems with articles and prepositions in “in the hyderabad” and “As far as I concerned,” as well as tense and agreement in “you had huge success … and have a majority fan base.” Break long sentences into shorter units, practise verb patterns such as “would like you to,” and check articles and tense consistency. Greater control is needed alongside the range attempted.
