Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify the purpose of the letter and include some relevant information about the theatre, such as its size, wheelchair access and parking. You also begin to explain why the actor was suggested, mentioning his fan following. However, the response addresses the task only partially: the invitation is not fully expressed with a clear request to attend and open the theatre, and the reasons for choosing him are left unfinished after “Apart from that,”. The theatre details are also brief, and the letter ends without a closing. The required minimum length is not met, so there is too little development to cover all three bullet points adequately. Complete each point with specific details and finish the letter.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The opening makes the purpose apparent, and the ideas move from the theatre’s facilities to the reason your team considered the actor. This gives the short response some basic organisation. However, progression is limited: “So” introduces the actor-selection point rather abruptly, while “Apart from that,” is left without a following idea, making the ending feel incomplete. The second paragraph also combines several details without clearly separating the theatre information from the invitation and supporting reasons. Use distinct paragraphs for these functions, connect them with clear transitions, and provide a complete final paragraph and sign-off. These changes would create a more sustained progression rather than a sequence of brief, unfinished points.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to the situation, including “inauguration,” “wheelchair facility,” “parking facility,” and “fan-following,” so the reader can identify the main topic. However, the range is limited and several choices or spellings are inaccurate or unnatural, which makes parts of the letter less clear. “Inaugration” is misspelled, “available fro every age group” contains a spelling error, and “wide space” is not a natural way to describe a theatre. “Fan-following” is also less idiomatic than “large following” or “many fans.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and add vocabulary for the venue, opening event, and the actor’s suitability. Proofreading spelling will also improve clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response includes simple statements and an attempt at a more complex construction in “Considering, the wheelchair facility and parking facility are provided.” However, the range is limited, and errors in sentence formation and punctuation are frequent enough to make some relationships unclear. “I hope you're going great” is not a well-formed expression; “I hope you’re doing well” would be clearer. In “which will be on last week of October,” the article is missing, and the timing is expressed awkwardly. The sentence beginning “Considering” is also incomplete or incorrectly connected to the previous idea. Practise complete sentences, articles, and subordinate clauses, and check punctuation so that each sentence expresses one clear idea.
