Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

The letter addresses all three requirements: it describes the theatre, invites the actor to the opening, and explains why their presence would suit the occasion. Details such as its location on Oxford Street, seating for over 400 people, and the actor’s admired acting skills make the invitation relevant. The reason that the actor would attract an audience and make the event memorable is also clear. Some information is less fully developed: the invitation does not give a date or explain what the actor would be expected to do beyond attending as chief guest, and the praise of their personality and hard work is not supported with a specific example. The response covers the task well, but fuller practical details and development would make it more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The letter has a recognisable structure, with separate paragraphs for the theatre, the invitation, and the reasons for choosing the actor. This makes the main points easy to locate. However, progression within the invitation paragraph is less smooth: “I would like to invite you” is followed by the separate statement that the company sent an invitation to the manager, which makes the purpose and status of the invitation slightly unclear. Repetition of “This theatre” at the start of consecutive sentences also makes cohesion somewhat mechanical. Use clearer links between details and avoid repeating the same subject—for example, combine the facilities and seating information into a more connected description.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for a formal invitation and includes some useful descriptive choices, such as “enormous,” “infrastructure,” “inauguration,” and “memorable.” These help convey the theatre’s scale and the event’s importance. There are, however, several imprecise or unnatural expressions, including “invite you for an opening ceremony,” “good soundproofing system,” and “the architect of the India.” “Luxury facilities” is also broad and could be replaced with a more specific description. Spelling and spacing in “hardwork” and the punctuation around “acting skills, humble personality” need attention. More accurate collocations and a wider range of formal invitation language would make the letter sound more natural and precise.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The response uses both simple sentences and some more developed structures, including “allowing people to order food and enjoy their meals while watching movies.” Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors are noticeable. For example, “The infrastructure … has designed” needs a passive form (“was designed”), while “Our company send” requires a past-tense verb (“sent”). The conditional in “I would be grateful if you will accept” is better expressed as “if you would accept.” There are also article and punctuation issues, such as “a good soundproofing system” and spaces before full stops. Greater control of verb forms, articles, and sentence punctuation would improve accuracy while preserving the range already attempted.
