Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address all three requested points: you describe the theatre as a place for new comedians, invite the actor to open it, and explain that their awards and experience make them suitable. However, the information is brief and some details are unclear. For example, “this saturday” gives a date but not the opening event’s time or other arrangements, while the reason that the actor is admired is only briefly stated. The letter also contains 133 words, so it does not meet the 150-word minimum. Develop the theatre’s purpose and the invitation details, and explain more specifically how the actor’s presence could inspire performers and attract an audience.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The letter has a recognisable structure, with separate paragraphs for the invitation, the actor’s suitability, and the closing. This helps the reader follow the main purpose. However, progression is limited: the first paragraph moves quickly from the invitation to the theatre’s purpose, and the second repeats the admiration expressed in the opening without adding much development. Some links between ideas are also abrupt, particularly the move from the actor’s awards to the suggestion of giving a speech. Use clearer sequencing and connect each paragraph to the next—for example, explain the theatre first, then make the invitation, and finally show how the actor’s participation would benefit the event.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “platform,” “perform,” “awards,” and “experience,” so the main message is understandable. However, the range is limited, and several word choices or spelling errors make the letter less natural, such as “without link with higher person,” “occation,” “carrer,” and “responce.” The phrase “different obstacles” is also not the most natural way to describe challenges in an acting career. Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling carefully. For instance, you could describe the theatre as “an accessible platform for emerging comedians” and refer to “overcoming challenges in the entertainment industry.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentence forms, such as “People who will be performing there can learn from your experience if you give them speech,” and the basic meaning is generally recoverable. However, errors are frequent and occur in simple as well as complex structures. Examples include “This centre give” instead of “This centre gives,” “many individuals praises” instead of “many individuals praise,” and missing articles in “you are perfect person” and “give them speech.” Sentence punctuation and capitalisation are also inconsistent, as in “this saturday” and the space before the full stop in the opening sentence. Practise subject–verb agreement, articles, and accurate punctuation, while keeping sentence structures clear.
