Dear Mohanlal,

I am writing this to invite you to the grant opening D cinema theatre in the town plaza onn October 21, 2026. We would like you to inaugrate the theatre. This is a Multiplex theatre with 500 seating capacity and centralized AC. Moreover, it offers recliner chairs with mobile phone charging slots.

We are so grateful to invite you to the inaugral function because your presence means a lot for our team as well as the local people.

We strongly believe that you are the best person to inaugrate our theatre because you are the one who made us fond of films, your versatile characters , transformation for making the characters more connected to the public and your dedication inspired our generation significantly. In addition, the Dada Sahib Falke award, you won recently has added a feather to your crown.

Thank you for your time and consideration

Sincerely,

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address all three points: you describe the theatre and its facilities, invite Mohanlal to inaugurate it, and explain his influence on audiences and your generation. The details about its 500-seat capacity, air conditioning and recliner chairs make the invitation specific, while the reasons for choosing him are relevant. This meets the task well, though some parts are more fully developed than others: the theatre information is concise, and the reasons for his suitability would be stronger with a clearer link between his career and the theatre’s aims. The invitation could also include practical details, such as the expected time or what you would like him to do at the opening.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a clear overall arrangement: it introduces the invitation, gives information about the venue, explains why the actor is suitable, and closes politely. Paragraphing helps distinguish these purposes, and connectors such as “Moreover” and “In addition” make relationships between ideas clear. Some cohesion is less natural or slightly mechanical, however. “We are so grateful to invite you” does not clearly connect the invitation to the preceding description, and the long sentence listing the actor’s qualities is difficult to follow. A more direct transition and splitting that list into two sentences would improve progression and make the reasoning easier to absorb.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range for a formal invitation, including relevant terms such as “Multiplex theatre,” “centralized AC,” “versatile characters,” and “dedication.” Some less common expressions are attempted, but several word-choice, collocation and spelling problems reduce precision: “grant opening” should be “grand opening,” “inaugrate” is misspelled, and “added a feather to your crown” is not the natural expression here. “We are so grateful to invite you” also sounds awkward for the intended meaning. These choices do not prevent the reader from understanding the message, but more accurate conventional phrasing would make the letter sound more polished and professional.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple sentences and more complex structures, including the reason clause “because you are the one who made us fond of films” and the sentence beginning “We strongly believe.” The main message remains understandable, but some grammatical and punctuation issues are present. For example, “This is a Multiplex theatre with 500 seating capacity” needs an article before “500-seat capacity,” and the list in “your versatile characters, transformation … and your dedication inspired” is not parallel or clearly structured. The comma before “you won recently” also interrupts the clause. Aim for complete, balanced sentence structures and check articles, agreement and punctuation.
