Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

The letter addresses all three requirements: it describes the cinema complex, invites Mr. Khan to the opening, and explains why his presence would be suitable. Details such as the seven auditoriums and the November 15 ceremony make the invitation specific. The explanation of his suitability is relevant, but it is less fully developed than the theatre description: his popularity and influence are mentioned, yet the link to supporting “live theatres” is not clearly explained for a cinema complex. The response therefore covers the task, while some ideas remain under-developed or slightly unclear. To strengthen it, explain more directly how his career, audience appeal, or connection with Mumbai would make the opening meaningful.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The letter follows a clear, appropriate sequence: purpose, venue details, invitation, reasons for choosing the actor, and a closing. Paragraphing helps distinguish these functions, and the progression is easy to follow. The formal opening and sign-off also suit the relationship. Cohesion is generally effective, although the transition from describing a cinema complex to encouraging support for “live theatres” creates a small break in the line of thought. The reason paragraph could connect more explicitly to the venue and event, so the reader sees how the actor’s qualities support this particular opening. Overall, the organisation is clear and cohesive, with room for slightly smoother links between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 7.0

The response uses a suitably formal range, including phrases such as “formally invite,” “state-of-the-art facility,” “unparalleled cinematic experience,” and “remarkable career.” These choices help establish a professional tone and communicate the venue’s appeal. Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, however: “advanced sounds and lightning system” appears to mean sound and lighting systems, while “respectful figures” and “inspiring many inspiring performers” do not express the intended ideas naturally. “Fine-dine services” is also an unusual phrase in this context. These occasional inaccuracies do not prevent understanding, but more precise collocations and careful proofreading would make the vocabulary more natural and flexible.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 7.0

There is a useful mix of sentence forms, including the complex description beginning “Our state-of-the-art facility features…” and the conditional invitation, “We would be deeply honored if you perform…”. Most sentences are clear, and punctuation and paragraphing are generally controlled. A few grammatical issues remain. After “would be,” the invitation needs a past-form verb (“performed”), and “Yours immense popularity” requires the possessive “Your.” The phrase “inspire many inspiring performers” also shows a word-form problem that affects grammatical accuracy as well as expression. These errors are noticeable but do not obstruct the message. More careful checking of verb forms and possessives would improve consistency.
