Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three points: you describe the theatre’s sound system, screen and facilities, invite the actor to the opening on 15 November, and explain that his fame and upcoming film could attract an audience. These details make the purpose clear and relevant. However, some points are less fully developed than others. The theatre description is a list of features rather than a clear picture of the venue, and the reason he is personally suitable is mainly that he is renowned and has a new film. Explain more specifically how his career or connection with audiences would make the opening memorable. A more complete invitation could also include practical details, such as the ceremony time and what you would like him to do.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The letter has a coherent overall arrangement: it opens with the invitation, gives information about the theatre, then explains why the actor’s presence could help, before closing. Paragraphing helps distinguish these purposes, and expressions such as “Additionally” and “Since” signal relationships between ideas. At times, however, the links feel mechanical or the reference is unclear. For example, “Ceremony will be thrilled with opening by your hands” does not clearly connect the actor’s presence to the ceremony, and the final paragraph shifts quickly from the actor’s film to ticket bookings and popularity. Use clearer transitions and develop each paragraph around one main point, with explicit references to the actor and the event.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a reasonable range of topic vocabulary, including “sound system,” “3D,” “self booking system,” “renowned actor” and “opening ceremony.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and you attempt more descriptive language such as “remarkable” and “incredible.” However, several phrases are inaccurate or unnatural, which limits precision: “3D enlarged screen experience,” “infrastructure and furniture design is…trending up to date,” and “opening by your hands” do not express the intended ideas naturally. There are also spelling errors, including “facililities” and “threatre.” Choose conventional collocations and check spelling; for example, describe a “large 3D screen” and “modern facilities.” This would make the letter sound more fluent and professional.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including the reason clause beginning “Since your new film is launching soon,” and the sentence explaining the actor’s reputation. The main message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors occur in sentence construction, articles, agreement and punctuation. For instance, “New theatre equipped” needs a subject and an appropriate verb form, while “Ceremony will be thrilled” needs an article and a clearer grammatical subject. The sentence beginning “As you are a renowned actor” is joined to the next idea with a comma, creating a run-on structure. Use complete sentences, check articles and verb forms, and separate independent clauses with a full stop or a suitable conjunction.
