Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You make a clear attempt to invite the actor and give some event details, including the date and time, and you explain that their presence would make the opening successful. However, the theatre itself is barely described, so this part of the task is not adequately covered. The reason the actor would be a suitable guest is also unclear: saying “You are one of the famous in Holly wood and Bolly wood” is relevant but not developed, and the later reference to Salman Khan makes it uncertain who is being invited. The letter therefore addresses the task only partially, with ideas that remain limited and under-explained. Add a brief description of the venue and give a specific reason connected to the actor’s career or contribution.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The response follows a recognisable letter format, with a greeting, invitation, event information, request for a reply, and sign-off. Some details are grouped around the opening ceremony, but the ideas do not progress clearly: the shift from addressing the recipient to saying “The one and only very famous actor is salman khan” is confusing, and the reason for the invitation is mixed with repeated requests to attend. Linking phrases such as “Please come,” “The grand opening,” and “I am waiting” are used, but repetition does not create a clear sequence. Organise the letter into short paragraphs—for example, introduce the theatre, make the invitation and explain the choice of guest, then close—and make references to the actor consistent.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some vocabulary relevant to a formal invitation, including “opening ceremony,” “celebration,” “invitation,” and “presence.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which can make the message difficult to interpret. For example, “opening transmission” does not clearly describe a theatre event, while “your presence is like as flower in fragrence” is an unclear and unnatural expression. Spelling errors such as “memoriable” and “diong” also reduce clarity. Aim for precise, conventional phrases such as “grand opening,” “honoured guest,” and “your presence would mean a great deal to us,” and check spelling before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
Most sentences rely on simple patterns, and attempts to combine ideas are often inaccurate. For instance, “It is my pleasure to inviteing” has an incorrect verb form, while “which is held in 12th of August” has faulty tense and preposition use. There are also problems with sentence boundaries and punctuation, as in “I hpoe you are doing well.I am writing,” and the sentence beginning “The one and only…” does not clearly connect to the intended recipient. These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas hard to follow. Practise accurate invitation structures such as “I would be delighted if you could open the theatre” and “The ceremony will take place on 12 August,” then use full stops and commas consistently.
