Dear Mam,
I am Deepika, owner of Xxx theatre. I want to inform you about the opening ceremony of my theatre on 27th October at 11:00 a.m. It is located in Kurukshetra. I would like to invite you in the inauguration of my theatre. I know you are very kind and helpful lady. And you don't want to come in these types of events as a public figures, while I find that you are the best lady I find for my theatre opening. I understand it also put an impact on your image. But I kindly requested you to come here and be the family member of our theatre. I want that because of your personality and down to earth nature and i found it very appreciated. This is the reason why i want you on my theatre opening. I understand that you have alot of works to do , but i also appreciate if you find some time for us and come here.
Thank you.
Yours truly

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three required points: you give the opening date, time and location, invite the actor, and explain that her kindness and down-to-earth personality make her suitable. The purpose is clear, and the request is polite. However, the theatre itself is described only through its location and opening details; adding information such as its size, facilities, programme or role in the community would make this part more complete. The reason for choosing the actor is relevant but somewhat repetitive, and the claim that she may not attend public events is not explained. Develop these ideas with a specific connection between her career or public image and the theatre’s opening to make the invitation more persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The letter follows a generally understandable order: it introduces the writer and event, makes the invitation, gives reasons, and closes politely. This helps the reader identify the purpose. However, the response is presented as one long paragraph, so the information and supporting reasons are not clearly grouped. Several links are repetitive or awkward, particularly the repeated use of “I want” and “This is the reason why.” The sentence beginning “And you don't want to come…” also interrupts the progression because its relationship to the invitation is unclear. Use separate paragraphs for the theatre details, invitation and reasons, and connect ideas with clearer, less repetitive transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for a formal invitation, including “opening ceremony,” “invite,” “personality,” and “down to earth nature,” so the reader can understand the main message. There are also attempts to express respect and appreciation. However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “invite you in the inauguration,” “be the family member of our theatre,” and “I found it very appreciated.” “Public figures” is also an awkward fit in this context. These choices make parts of the letter less fluent, even though the intended meaning is usually recoverable. Aim for conventional invitation phrases and more precise language when explaining why the actor is an appropriate guest.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The letter includes both simple statements and longer sentences, for example, “It is located in Kurukshetra” and the sentence beginning “I understand that you have…” This shows some variety, and the main message remains understandable. However, errors occur in sentence construction and grammatical forms. In “I kindly requested you to come,” the verb form does not fit the present request; “I kindly request you to come” would be more suitable. “I want that because…” is an incomplete or awkwardly formed clause, while “you are very kind and helpful lady” is missing an article. Capitalisation of “I” is also inconsistent. Practise accurate request structures and check articles, verb forms and sentence boundaries.
