Dear Mr. Khan,

I hope you are doing well.

I am Owais Ansari a ground manager at Ankush Theatre. I am writing this to invite you on the inauguration of our new theatre.

The site of our new theatre is near to Juhu Beach and next to the famous building called Pheonix Mall. The theatre is designed for digital movies and as well as for real-time acts. Our new building has the largest seating capacity incomparison to any other theatre in Mumbai city.

We request you to be our guest on this moment. It will be our honoured if you cut the ribbon and inaugurate our new venue of entertainment. The opening ceremony is on 12th of December this year.

You have been the face Indian cinema since decades. People around the globe loves you for your contribution in entertainment. You have done dramas, acts and movies that inspires us all. So, myself and my team has decided that we will not find any right person rather than you.

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,

Owais Ansari

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

The letter addresses all three requirements: it gives details about the theatre’s location and facilities, makes a clear invitation to inaugurate it on 12 December, and explains the actor’s suitability by referring to his influence on Indian cinema. The purpose and tone are appropriate, and the invitation is easy to identify. The reason for choosing Mr Khan is relevant, but it is expressed in broad terms—such as “People around the globe loves you”—rather than supported with a more specific link between his career and the theatre’s programme or audience. Adding one concrete reason, for example his connection to Mumbai or his contribution to live performance, would make the explanation more fully developed and persuasive while retaining the clear coverage already present.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The information follows a clear, sensible sequence: an opening and purpose, theatre details, the invitation and date, and finally the reason for selecting the actor. Separate paragraphs help the reader follow these stages, and the closing is suitable for a formal letter. Linking phrases such as “The site of our new theatre” and “So” make relationships between ideas understandable, although the latter is somewhat conversational and the transitions are occasionally basic. The invitation paragraph could connect the ceremony date more smoothly to the request, and the final paragraph could progress from the actor’s achievements to why they matter to this particular venue. More precise, varied transitions and clearer links between supporting points would strengthen the progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the purpose and includes relevant terms such as “inauguration,” “seating capacity,” “opening ceremony,” and “contribution.” These choices communicate the theatre’s features and the formal invitation, and the meaning remains clear despite some inaccurate or unnatural expressions. For example, “on the inauguration” and “real-time acts” do not express the intended meanings naturally; “for the inauguration” and “live performances” would be more idiomatic. There are also spelling and word-choice issues, including “Pheonix” and “honoured” in the phrase “It will be our honoured.” Aim for more accurate collocations and check spelling, while building on the relevant vocabulary already used.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The letter uses a mix of simple statements and longer structures, including “The theatre is designed for digital movies and as well as for real-time acts” and the explanation beginning “You have been the face…”. The message is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors recur and limit accuracy. Examples include the missing comma in “I am Owais Ansari, a ground manager,” “It will be our honoured,” and agreement errors in “People around the globe loves” and “movies that inspires us.” The phrase “myself and my team has decided” also has a subject–verb agreement problem. Practise checking subjects and verbs, articles, and sentence construction, then proofread each sentence for a complete and accurate form.
