Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three required points: you identify the company and describe the venue as being in Chandigarh Sector 17, with seven halls and more space for families; you clearly invite Diljit Dosanjh to attend; and you explain that he is admired across age groups and represents the community internationally. These details make the purpose clear. However, the theatre information and the reason he is a suitable guest are brief, and the invitation could be more specific about what you would like him to do at the opening. The response is also three words below the required minimum, so it does not fully meet the task’s length instruction. Add a little detail about the opening event and why his presence would matter to the audience.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a clear overall sequence: it introduces the writer and purpose, gives information about the theatre, explains the invitation, and closes politely. Paragraph breaks help distinguish these stages, and phrases such as “I would really appreciate it if” and “I hope you would consider” connect the request to the closing naturally. This is already a coherent arrangement, but some links between ideas are abrupt. For example, the move from the theatre’s location and facilities to the invitation could be smoother, and the final paragraph repeats the hope that the invitation will be accepted without adding a new detail. To strengthen progression, group the venue details together and then explain how the actor’s attendance would contribute to the opening.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a suitable range of vocabulary for a formal invitation, including “special guest,” “international level,” and “inspiration.” The meaning is generally clear, and the tone is mostly appropriate. However, some word choices and collocations are awkward or imprecise, such as “more playing area,” “on this opening occasion,” and “new successful theatre opening.” There are also spelling errors, including “goign,” “respresenting,” and “hardwork,” which reduce accuracy. Aim for more natural phrases such as “additional family-friendly space,” “at the opening ceremony,” and “the successful launch of our new theatre.” Proofreading for spelling and choosing conventional collocations would make the letter sound more fluent and professional.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use both simple sentences and more complex forms, including the conditional request “I would really appreciate it if you would accept my invitation” and the reason introduced by “because.” Most of the message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors are noticeable. For example, “I am writing this to invite you for the opening” uses an unsuitable preposition in the invitation pattern, and “your are” should be “you are.” The phrase “We are goign to open it” also needs the correct spelling and form, “We are going to open it.” Review pronouns, verb forms, and article use, and check each sentence for accuracy. More consistently controlled complex sentences would improve the range and reliability of the writing.
