Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You make a relevant attempt to invite the actor, and you give some information about the theatre: it is intended for beginners and older actors will teach there weekly. You also suggest that the actor’s experience and standing in the industry make them suitable. However, the invitation and reasons are not clearly or fully explained, and the letter does not give practical details such as the opening date or what you would like the actor to do. The relationship described as “my causen brothre” also makes the intended recipient unclear. The response is 23 words below the required minimum, which limits the opportunity to develop the three points. Add specific details and explain the actor’s suitability more clearly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The letter follows a basic letter format, with a greeting, several paragraphs and a closing, and the ideas broadly relate to the invitation. However, the information is not arranged in a clear progression: the theatre description, the list of invitees, the request for advice and the opening invitation are mixed together. Connections such as “First” and “as well as” do not make the relationships between ideas clear, while “I hope you helped and and discuss finel date” is difficult to follow. Use separate paragraphs for the theatre, the invitation and your reasons, and connect each point with clear, accurate linking phrases. A more suitable greeting and sign-off would also make the letter’s purpose and tone easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You attempt vocabulary connected with the task, including “theatre,” “teacher,” “industry” and “opening,” so the reader can identify the general subject. However, the range is basic and many spelling and word-choice errors strain understanding, for example “chife gest,” “spacley,” “scren artiests” and “respact.” Some phrases are also unnatural or unclear, such as “opening my new theatre” and “I fiel comfortabel then you are opening.” Choose standard expressions for a formal invitation and check spelling carefully. More precise wording for the theatre’s purpose, the event and the actor’s contribution would help you communicate the ideas without requiring the reader to interpret them.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response includes a few attempts to join ideas, such as “because you are my…” and “as well as,” but sentence structures are very limited and errors frequently make the message difficult to understand. For example, “I hope you and your family is happy there” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, and “I am writing a letter to you for inviting” does not form the invitation correctly. The final sentence, “I hope you helped and and discuss finel date,” lacks a clear grammatical structure. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then build longer ones using clauses such as “I am writing to invite you…” and “You would be an ideal guest because…”. Check verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence punctuation.
