Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

You address all three requirements: you describe the theatre and its facilities, invite the actor to inaugurate it, and explain why their presence would be suitable. Details such as its 500-person capacity, modern sound system, event date and transport arrangements make the invitation specific. Your reason—that the actor inspires the younger generation—also supports the choice, although it could be developed with a more personal link to their career or contribution to the arts. The purpose remains clear throughout, and the tone is generally appropriate for a formal invitation. To strengthen the letter further, make the practical arrangements and the request for a response more precise, while maintaining a consistently polished formal style.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The letter is organised in a clear sequence: the opening explains the purpose, the next paragraphs describe the venue and event, and the final section gives your reason for inviting the actor and closes the letter. Paragraphing helps the reader follow these stages, and linking expressions such as “Moreover” and “Being the most commendable actor” connect ideas. Some transitions are less smooth: “Not only this” is awkwardly used, and the list of expected guests interrupts the event details. The closing also moves quickly from the invitation to a general offer of contact. Grouping related information more tightly and using simpler, more natural transitions would make the progression feel more effortless.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of vocabulary suited to a formal invitation, including “opening ceremony,” “formally inaugurate,” “distinguished guests,” and “inspiring personality.” These choices help convey the purpose and tone. However, inaccurate spelling and word choice are noticeable and sometimes distract the reader: “threatre,” “conjusted,” “housefull,” and “inquire” are examples. Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “the sound system is defined” and “the first biggest theatre.” Choose more precise collocations and check spelling carefully; for example, describe the sound system as “state-of-the-art” and say the venue is “the city’s largest theatre.” This would make your vocabulary more natural and precise.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including “Not only this, it is spacious enough so that…” and “Being the most commendable actor, I believe…”. The overall meaning is usually understandable, but errors in agreement, articles, sentence construction and punctuation are frequent enough to limit accuracy. For instance, “a new theatre that are company is planning” has incorrect agreement and an unclear possessive; “It will be attended by distinguised guest” needs a plural noun; and “as well me famous personalities” is not a complete grammatical construction. Capitalisation and spacing around punctuation are also inconsistent. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, and use a reliable model for formal letter phrasing.
