Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
You begin to address the task by identifying the company, giving the planned opening date and describing the theatre as an 800-seat venue with equipment. However, the response is far too brief to cover the required points adequately: it does not explain why Mr Khan would be a suitable person to open the theatre, and the invitation is only stated in one short sentence. The description also ends abruptly at “projectors foe,” leaving the information incomplete. The minimum length is not met: the response contains 60 words rather than the required 150. Develop each bullet point with relevant details, including a clear reason linked to the actor’s career or public profile, and finish with a polite closing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The letter has a recognisable opening and a basic sequence: you introduce yourself and the company, describe the venue, then make the invitation. This gives the reader some sense of purpose. However, the response is one unfinished paragraph, and the final phrase, “projectors foe,” interrupts the progression and leaves the message incomplete. There are also no linking phrases to connect the theatre details to the invitation or explain why the actor is being approached. Organise the letter into short paragraphs—for example, one for the theatre, one for the invitation and reasons, and a final paragraph for practical arrangements and thanks. Add a suitable sign-off to complete the format.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the situation, including “opening ceremony,” “800 seater,” “theatre,” and “projectors,” so the basic topic is clear. However, the range is limited because the response is very short, and several spelling or word-choice errors make parts difficult to understand: “on behave” appears to mean “on behalf,” “planing” should be “planning,” and “lightenings” is not the appropriate term for theatre equipment. The ending “foe” also appears to be an unintended word. Use precise expressions such as “800-seat auditorium,” “stage lighting,” and “high-quality projection equipment.” Proofread carefully, and choose vocabulary that describes the venue and the actor’s suitability clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response includes a few basic sentence patterns, such as “I am writing…” and “I wish to invite you…,” and the main purpose is partly understandable. However, the range is narrow, with little evidence of complex sentence control. There are frequent grammatical and punctuation problems, including “My company is planing to open,” where the verb form should be “plans” or “is planning,” and missing spaces around punctuation in “company ,Pama Cinema, whch.” The date phrase also needs a clearer grammatical form, such as “on 15 November 2026.” The final sentence is incomplete, so its structure cannot be followed. Practise complete sentences, accurate verb forms and articles, and consistent punctuation; then add varied sentence structures to explain the invitation and its reasons.
