Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address the main purpose by inviting the actor, giving a date and venue, and explaining that her presence could inspire people to support cancer awareness. The theatre’s charitable aim is also relevant. However, the information is brief and some details are unclear: the opening description shifts from “theatre” to “cinema,” and the final sentence is cut off at “and h,” leaving the reason for choosing the actor unfinished. The invitation could be made more complete by explaining what role or contribution you hope she will make at the ceremony. The response is also 13 words below the required minimum, so the task is not fully developed. Add a clear closing and expand the theatre and event details.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a generally clear sequence: you introduce the invitation, describe the venue and its purpose, provide event details, and then explain why the actor is suitable. Separate paragraphs help the reader follow these points. Some connections are less smooth, however. “The company happily requests to do the inauguration” is followed by a separate invitation that repeats the same idea, and “for the same” is an unclear reference. The final paragraph also ends abruptly, which interrupts the progression and leaves the explanation incomplete. To improve, use direct links between the event details and the request, avoid repeating the invitation, and finish with a complete concluding paragraph and sign-off.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use a suitable range of vocabulary for a formal invitation, including “opening ceremony,” “raising funds,” “welfare,” “inauguration,” and “inspired.” These choices communicate the charitable purpose and the actor’s potential influence. Some expressions are not natural or precise in context: “opened in City of London” needs a more idiomatic location phrase, while “source for raising funds” and “do the inauguration” are awkward collocations. Calling the venue a “cinema” after introducing it as a theatre also creates imprecision. The meaning is generally understandable, but more accurate collocations and consistent terminology would make the letter sound more fluent and professional.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple sentences and a more complex structure, as in “I believe that you will be the appropriate person as so many people are inspired by you.” The main message is usually understandable, but some grammatical errors remain. In the opening, “will soon be organised my entertainment company” is missing “by,” and “opened in City of London” needs an article before the city name. “The company happily requests to do the inauguration” also has an awkward verb pattern; a direct construction such as “we would be delighted if you could inaugurate the theatre” would be clearer. The final sentence is incomplete, so it cannot show accurate control of the intended structure. Check articles, passive forms, and verb patterns, and complete every sentence.
