Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three required points: you describe the theatre and its facilities, invite the actor to attend, and give a reason for choosing them. Details such as its location “within the Central business district” and the spacious VVIP section make the invitation relevant. However, the invitation is not fully clear: “as our goust actor” could mean a guest performer rather than the person formally opening the theatre. The explanation of why the actor is suitable is also brief; being “well conversant with the audience” is a useful start, but you could explain how their reputation or connection with local audiences would make the opening memorable. Clarifying the actor’s role and developing this reason would make the letter more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall sequence: it introduces the theatre, gives event details, makes the invitation, and closes politely. Separate paragraphs help the reader follow these stages, and phrases such as “to start with” and “in addition” signal added information. This coherent arrangement meets the task well. Some links between ideas are less controlled, however. The long sentence beginning “The grand lunch will take place” combines the date, duration, refreshments, and invitation without clear punctuation, so the relationships between details are harder to follow. The final paragraph also moves quickly from praise to the invitation. Use shorter sentences and clearer transitions to make the progression smoother and less dependent on linking phrases.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of vocabulary for a formal invitation, including “historic,” “amenities,” “VVIP visitors,” and “entourage.” These choices help convey the venue’s character and the event’s intended audience. There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice problems that reduce precision: “grand lunch” is not the usual phrase for an opening event, “accommodative” is awkward for describing spacious facilities, and “goust actor” is unclear. “Free drinks and foods” is also less natural than a standard expression for refreshments. Aim for accurate collocations and check spelling carefully; this will help your vocabulary sound more natural and professional while retaining the useful range already attempted.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and the main message is generally understandable. However, errors in sentence boundaries, capitalization, articles, and agreement are evident. For example, “i am writing” needs a capital letter, while “a new theatre” requires a space and article placement that is clear. The sentence beginning “The grand lunch will take place” runs several ideas together, and “The reviews about your performance … is exciting” has a subject–verb agreement problem. The closing also needs consistent capitalization and punctuation. Practise separating long sentences and checking each clause for a clear subject and verb; more accurate control of these patterns would make the letter easier to read.
