Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The letter addresses all three requirements: it describes the theatre and its facilities, invites the actor to the opening, and gives a reason for choosing them. Details such as the planned food court and the owner’s admiration for the actor make the invitation relevant. However, some points are less fully developed or unclear. For example, “we want this ceremony will be done by you” does not clearly explain the role expected of the guest, and the explanation involving the owner’s wife and colleagues giving him a surprise distracts from why the actor personally would be a suitable opener. State the actor’s influence or connection to the company more directly, and specify what you would like them to do at the ceremony.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a generally sensible sequence: it introduces the company and theatre, presents the invitation, explains the choice, and closes politely. Paragraphing helps separate these stages. Some links between ideas are less clear, however. The third paragraph moves from the owner liking the actor’s films to the wife and staff arranging a surprise, leaving the reason for the invitation difficult to follow. The sentence about the upcoming movie also runs into the next idea without a clear boundary. Use clearer transitions and keep each paragraph focused on one purpose; for instance, explain the actor’s suitability first, then mention the planned screening as a separate detail. This would make the overall progression easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a reasonable range of vocabulary for a formal invitation, including “opening ceremony,” “inauguration,” “spectators,” and “confirmation.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and the theatre facilities are described with some specificity. However, several spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, such as “reclinears,” “occassion,” and “memebers.” Some phrases are also unnatural or unclear, including “theatre is going to be biggest” and “this ceremony will be done by you.” Choose more natural collocations and check spelling carefully. For example, “comfortable reclining seats” is clearer than “comfortable reclinears,” while “we would be honoured if you could officially open the theatre” expresses the invitation more idiomatically.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The letter includes both simple statements and attempts at longer, more complex sentences, such as the description of the theatre and the explanation of the surprise. The main message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity. In “My name is John, I am working,” two independent clauses are joined with a comma; use a full stop or “and.” Other examples include “theatre is going to be biggest,” which needs an article, and “I would highly thankful,” which needs “be.” The conditional wording “if you will come” is also better expressed as “if you could attend.” Review articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries to make these structures more accurate.
