Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address the main purpose by requesting that the actor attend and open the theatre, and you give a location, an opening date, and a reason for choosing this person: the actor is famous locally and a film was successful. However, the task is only partially covered. The theatre’s information is very limited, and the explanation of why the actor is suitable is brief and not fully developed. The invitation is also unclear because you first give 25 August, then say the date has been moved, without stating the new date. The response is 21 words below the required minimum, which limits the opportunity to develop these points. Add details about the venue and a clear, complete invitation.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The letter follows a generally understandable order: you introduce the request, provide some background about the theatre, and then explain why you chose the actor. This gives the reader a basic sense of the purpose. However, progression is uneven, and the final paragraph combines the actor’s popularity, the manager’s reply, a date change, and the invitation without clear links. For example, “so I shift the opening date one week forward” does not clearly identify the revised date or connect smoothly to the request. Paragraphing is present but limited, and the closing is abrupt. Use separate paragraphs for the theatre details and the invitation, and connect each idea explicitly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough basic vocabulary to communicate the central message, including “opening,” “theatre,” “famous,” and “records.” However, the range is limited, and several word choices, collocations, and spelling errors make the letter less clear or less appropriate for a formal invitation. Phrases such as “come on the opening ceremony,” “as a chief guest,” and “my new theatre” are not natural in this context; “manger,” “availabe,” and “fathfully” are also misspelled. Aim for precise, conventional expressions for invitations and venue descriptions, and check spelling carefully. A wider range of suitable terms would help you explain the theatre and the actor’s contribution more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response relies mainly on simple sentence patterns, with a few attempts to join ideas using “and,” “so,” and “as.” These attempts do not consistently produce accurate sentences, and grammatical errors are frequent enough to affect clarity. For example, “a construction work is just complete of my new theatre” has problems with article use, word order, and verb form; “I am working in TC records” also uses an unclear grammatical pattern. Capitalisation and sentence boundaries are inconsistent, as in “Haryana. a construction work…” and “So i request…”. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add controlled clauses to explain the date change and the actor’s suitability.
