Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The letter addresses all three required points: it gives details about the Toronto venue and its facilities, invites Diljit to inaugurate it, and explains that his popularity among young and older audiences makes him a suitable choice. The specific date and time, plus the offer to reschedule, make the invitation practical. These relevant details show good coverage of the task. However, the reason for choosing him is stated rather than developed: you could explain how his career or connection with audiences would help attract people and create a memorable opening. The theatre information is also somewhat unclear in places, so clarifying what the venue offers would make the message more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The message has a recognisable letter structure, moving from the invitation and event details to the venue’s facilities and a closing request. Paragraph breaks help separate these functions, and the reader can follow the overall purpose. However, the first paragraph combines several ideas in one long sentence, while the final paragraph repeats the request and the idea of a memorable event. Some links, such as “With that,” are not precise, and the transition between the venue description and the invitation could be smoother. Use shorter sentences and clearer links between each point, and ensure each paragraph develops one main purpose without repetition.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for an invitation and venue description, including “inaugurate,” “auditoriums,” “comfortable seats,” and “live shows.” These choices communicate the general meaning, but the range is limited and several phrases are unnatural or imprecise, such as “popularity in youth as well as in elders,” “great 3 experience,” and “best food facility.” “Opening” and “theatre” are also repeated often. Choose more natural collocations and precise descriptions—for example, refer to his appeal across age groups and to the venue’s dining options. This would make the letter sound more polished and professional while retaining its friendly tone.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts both simple and longer sentence forms, and the main message is generally understandable. However, control is inconsistent, particularly in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries. Examples include “we going to provide,” “the place also have,” and the fragment “If you can come on the opening date to join us.” The opening sentence also joins several clauses without clear punctuation, making it difficult to follow. Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement and tense—for instance, use a consistent future form when describing planned facilities. More accurate sentence construction would make the invitation easier to read.
