Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three requirements: you describe the theatre’s expanded seating, improved sound and screen, and central location; invite the actor to the opening; and explain that their fame could attract visitors and raise the theatre’s profile. These points are relevant and the purpose is clear. However, some are not fully developed: the invitation does not give a date or explain what the opening ceremony would involve, and the reasons for choosing this actor rely mainly on their popularity. The claim that the actor is a “great personality” could be made more specific by referring to their career or connection with audiences. A more direct, personalised invitation and fuller supporting details would make the letter more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The letter has a recognisable structure, with separate paragraphs for the theatre, the invitation, and the reason for selecting the actor. This helps the reader follow its main purpose. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes weakened by repeated or awkward linking, such as “Due to this” and “which leads to that,” and the long final paragraph combines several ideas without clear steps. Some references are also unclear, particularly “this” in “opening this.” Use simpler links and make each paragraph develop one main point in sequence. A conventional closing and a more consistent formal tone would also help the letter feel more cohesive.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of vocabulary suited to the topic, including “myriad,” “seating area,” “sound system,” “popularity,” and “opening ceremony.” This shows an effort to go beyond basic wording. However, several choices or spellings are inaccurate and sometimes make the message less natural: “predominent,” “molst,” “ehances,” and “optistime” are difficult to interpret, while “get a experience” and “quality of time” are not appropriate collocations. “Theatre” and “theater” are also used inconsistently. Choose familiar, precise expressions and check spelling; accurate phrases such as “attract a larger audience” would communicate your ideas more clearly than ambitious but uncertain wording.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple statements and attempts at longer, complex sentences, for example the sentence beginning “The main predominent reason is that.” This gives the letter some structural variety, but control is uneven. Errors include “I would appreciate it, If you were come,” where the verb form is incorrect, and “the main … reason is that, why,” which has an awkward clause structure. There are also problems with articles and agreement in “a experience” and “the features … is,” as well as punctuation and capitalisation after commas. Aim first for accurate, complete sentences, then add subordinate clauses. Correct forms such as “I would appreciate it if you could come” will make the invitation clearer.
