Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 197 words. Furthermore, the essay is incomplete, ending abruptly mid-sentence. While the prompt asks for an opinion on whether the trend of anti-aging products is positive or negative, the response is fragmented and fails to develop a clear, consistent argument. The ideas presented, such as the link between climate change and skin products, are tangential and lack logical connection to the prompt. Due to the significant under-length and the incomplete nature of the response, the task is only partially addressed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay lacks a logical structure. Paragraphing is attempted but the content within these paragraphs is disjointed and often incoherent. Cohesive devices are either missing or misused, such as the abrupt transition in the third paragraph. The lack of a clear introduction, body, and conclusion makes the progression of ideas difficult to follow. The text reads more like a collection of disconnected sentences rather than a cohesive argument, which significantly hinders the reader's ability to track the writer's train of thought.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.5

The vocabulary is limited and often inaccurate, which frequently impedes communication. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'youngster of today's generation are becoming more reliable on their good looks' (likely meaning 'reliant') and 'connivant of Import and export' (likely meaning 'convenience'). The use of 'deathly illness' is also imprecise in this context. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas, and the frequent errors in collocation and spelling suggest a restricted lexical range that struggles to convey the intended meaning clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often distort meaning. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'availability of these skin products is become easier'), incorrect word forms (e.g., 'the expand of businesses'), and sentence fragments. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary commas and capitalization errors. The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences with frequent errors. The lack of control over basic grammar makes the text difficult to read and understand, preventing the use of more complex, error-free structures.
