Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the trend of using products and treatments to look younger. You clearly state your position that it is a 'good thing' and provide reasons such as increased confidence and social status. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the point about celebrity influence is mentioned but not fully explored in relation to the 'good or bad' argument. To improve, ensure that each paragraph provides a more detailed explanation or a more specific example that directly supports your stance, rather than just describing the phenomenon.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'The primary reason', 'Another important reason', and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and some transitions feel repetitive. For example, the use of 'for instance' and 'for example' in consecutive paragraphs is a bit predictable. To reach a higher band, try to use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that the progression of ideas within paragraphs is smoother and more sophisticated.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'vibrant', 'societal status', and 'admiration'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and minor errors, such as 'discuss' instead of 'discussed', 'some celebrity' instead of 'some celebrities', and 'cannot be affordable' instead of 'cannot be afforded'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To improve, focus on learning the correct collocations and word forms to express your ideas more naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('some of this products'), incorrect verb forms ('reasons will be discuss'), and minor punctuation or article errors. While you attempt complex sentences, they often contain errors that slightly distract the reader. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your verb tenses are consistent throughout the essay.
