Student answer (Band 5.5)

These days it is being a trend in peope to hide their age and use different typers of injections as well as doctor medications. as thus trend is being popular in youth it have really positive and negative aspects in ones life.lets throw some light on both of these topic in the following paragraphs.

To start, well the beauty products and tratments are largly popular in the film stars and the wealthier people. There are certain individuals who are well aged ans look really younger as it is good for there profession. To explain, in hollywood most of the acctress and the actors are really aged these days but whenever we see them on television they look really younger because of which they get good moves and earn well. aslo it is important for them as they have ti manage there stardom and value in the industry. for example, there was a research by the university of harwords in 2016 in which they took around 100 film actors from the world and the ststics show that more than 63 percent of the people were more than the age of 45 and look really younger comparative to ordaniry peple of the respective countries.

on the other side, if we talk about the ill side of these chemical products and the costly treatments, it have really bad impact on the health of the persons whoever uses it. To support my argue, it is been noticed in last two decades that there is a increase in the health issues of the film stars in their 60s or 70s. to inlight, i would like ro talk about the medications and the surgeries people getting to look younger have a deep impacpt on the health in the long term. to examplify, there was a article by the washington news whose editor was james luu in 2019 about the health and the fittness of the people in the film industry which clarified that the people who opted to have medications and other things to look younger had really serious skin and other type of problems.

To conclude, I would like to say that no matter how much good outcomes we have of a particular thing there are lot of negative outcomes also. everything which is used for some medication should be used only if it is needed not for some other reasons.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt by discussing whether anti-aging products and treatments are a good or a bad thing, presenting arguments for both sides. The writer takes a general position, concluding that everything has both positive and negative outcomes. Ideas are extended and supported with examples, such as the mention of actors in Hollywood and the cited reference to a study by Harvard. However, some of the reasoning leans towards generalisation and the examples provided lack precise verifiable detail, placing the response firmly at Band 6.0 in terms of task fulfillment and development.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is divided into four paragraphs, following a standard introductory and concluding structure with two body paragraphs. Progression is generally clear, and cohesive devices such as 'To start', 'on the other side', and 'To conclude' are used to signpost the argument. However, referencing and transitions can be mechanical or clunky, as seen in phrases like 'lets throw some light on both of these topic' and 'To support my argue'. Paragraphing is present and helps segment the ideas, but overall cohesion is sometimes faulty, leading to a Band 6.0 score.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'stardom', 'treatments', and 'medications'. However, there are frequent errors in word choice, morphology, and spelling throughout the text, such as 'typers' instead of 'types', 'acctress' instead of 'actresses', 'harwords' instead of 'Harvard', 'ststics' instead of 'statistics', 'ordaniry' instead of 'ordinary', and 'fittness' instead of 'fitness'. These lexical inaccuracies and non-standard forms occasionally cause strain, though communication remains clear overall, meriting a Band 5.5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but grammatical control is inconsistent. There are numerous punctuation and capitalization errors, such as starting sentences with lowercase letters ('as thus trend', 'aslo', 'on the other side', 'to inlight'). Frequent grammatical errors also occur, including subject-verb agreement issues ('it have really positive and negative aspects', 'it have really bad impact') and incorrect preposition use or word forms ('people getting to look younger have a deep impacpt'). While some complex structures are attempted, the high frequency of basic errors places this at a Band 5.0.
