Student answer (Band 5.5)

At present, it is possible for individuals to purchase more products or spend money to get traetments which may help them to appear as younger. I will discuss both good and bad views about this statement before explaining my own experience in this essay.

The major reason why I considered it as a good thing is that many people feel less confident in front of other people when they think about their beauty .As they are getting older ,their skin start becoming loose or dull. This is the main point where they begin to get some skin treatments from professional centres. For example, if a person have an interview with well known company for the manager position, it is important for that person to appear as a professional and beautiful. it works as a key of confident from inside of the soul. Other reason behind this is that social media influencers encourage human beings to get products from them as they will provide discounts.

On the other side, it is considered as a bad thing as many people damage their natural beauty by using online products before prescribing from doctors. For instance, my one of the friends visited store at Richmond, she got severe skin allergy after using skin products . After checking, it was noticed that something unnatural material was mixed with that product during its manufacturing. Moreover, it waste a lot of money , savings of people. Eventhough, they never get satisfaction with those purcgased products .

In conclusion, it is better to get long term treatments or products from professional or doctors rather than using random products. Eventually, natural beauty is the one and only which will stay throughout the whole life of human.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the positive and negative aspects of using products and treatments to look younger, and includes a personal viewpoint and example. The position is clear throughout the essay. However, some ideas are a bit limited or under-developed. For instance, the point about social media influencers is introduced but not fully expanded upon. Similarly, the reasoning regarding confidence is somewhat simplistic. Nonetheless, the core requirements of the task are met, and the arguments presented are relevant to the prompt. To reach a higher band, the student should expand further on their main points with more fully developed explanations rather than moving quickly from one idea to another.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing, separating the introduction, advantages, disadvantages, and conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the other side,' 'For example,' and 'In conclusion,' though referencing is occasionally faulty or mechanical, as seen in phrases like 'my one of the friends.' Logical progression is generally maintained, but the transition between ideas within paragraphs can feel a bit disjointed at times. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately, guiding the reader through the distinct viewpoints presented in the prompt. Overall, the organizational structure is adequate for this level, though more seamless transitional phrases would enhance the flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'professional centres' and 'unnatural material.' However, there are notable spelling errors ('traetments', 'purcgased') and awkward collocations like 'appear as younger' instead of 'look younger' or 'appear younger.' Word choice errors also occur, such as 'before prescribing from doctors' instead of 'without a doctor's prescription.' These errors do not seriously impede communication, but they highlight limitations in lexical control that prevent the response from achieving a higher band score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writing demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'The major reason why I considered it as a good thing is that...' and conditional structures. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, including subject-verb agreement issues ('skin start becoming', 'person have'), tense inconsistencies, and missing articles. For instance, 'it works as a key of confident from inside of the soul' contains multiple grammatical inaccuracies. While these errors rarely completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to detract from the overall quality of the writing and place it firmly within the Band 5.0 range.
