Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing whether spending money on products and treatments to look younger is a good or bad thing, taking a clear positive position throughout. The introduction outlines why this is beneficial, and the body paragraphs present reasons supported by examples, such as online shopping convenience via Amazon and advanced dermatological treatments like PRP. However, the ideas remain somewhat repetitive and lack deeper elaboration. While all parts of the prompt are addressed, the arguments would benefit from greater extension and a wider perspective to reach a higher band. Overall, it satisfies the basic requirements of the task.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is generally coherent and follows a recognizable essay structure with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate ideas. Cohesive devices are employed, such as 'First and foremost', 'Furthermore', and 'To conclude', although some referencing and transitions feel a bit mechanical or repetitive. The logical progression is clear overall, but the minor faults in cohesion prevent it from reaching a higher descriptor level.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate main ideas about anti-aging products and treatments. There are attempts at less common vocabulary such as 'skin regeneration', 'dermatologists', and 'aesthetic clinics'. However, there are notable word-choice errors, incorrect forms, and spelling mistakes throughout the text, such as 'olders' instead of 'older people', 'shoping' instead of 'shopping', 'treaments', 'hepful', and 'diffrent'. These minor lexical errors do not impede communication, placing the response solidly in the band 6 category.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The writer demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing relative clauses and conditional structures. There are several grammatical and mechanical errors present, such as punctuation issues, lowercase 'i', missing articles, and awkward phrasing like 'people especially older population' and 'everyone have right'. Despite these errors, the meaning remains clear and communication is not impeded. The command over grammar represents a typical band 6 level performance where a blend of accurate simple structures contrasts with occasional errors in more complex attempts.
