Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
Your response addresses the prompt by discussing whether spending money on anti-ageing products and treatments is a good or bad thing, taking a clear position that it is generally a waste of money and a temporary solution. However, the ideas are somewhat limited and under-developed, relying on brief examples like street food and advertisements without deep elaboration. Crucially, your response falls below the required 250-word minimum, containing only 245 words. This negative impact on task length requires a penalty in Task Achievement. Consequently, your score reflects partial task completion and under-developed ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
There is a basic logical organisation to your essay, with an introduction, body paragraph, and a truncated conclusion. However, paragraphing is poorly managed, particularly at the end where the text cuts off mid-sentence ('For...'). Cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or missing ('Morever', 'Take for example'), and referencing can be unclear, such as shifting abruptly between ideas about diet and chemical products. While there is an overall attempt at structure, the lack of a proper conclusion and frequent breaks in flow pull the coherence down.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
You demonstrate a minimally adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'temporary solution', 'allergic reaction', and 'anti-ageing'. However, there are numerous word choice and spelling errors throughout the text, including 'product' instead of 'products', 'follows korean skincare' (grammatical/lexical mismatch), 'unhigenic' (unhygienic), 'Morever', 'circumtances', and 'choice it' instead of 'choose it'. These noticeable errors occasionally cause difficulty for the reader.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
Your writing displays a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentence forms, such as 'People who use so many chemical product on face for tighten skin...'. However, control of grammar and punctuation is weak, with frequent errors that impede communication. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('all has temporary result', 'people influence by advertisement'), missing articles ('apply on one sided face'), and incorrect preposition use. Furthermore, the sentence structures are often repetitive and lack accuracy when attempting complexity.
