IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Nowadays it's possible for people to buy many products or pay for treatments that help them to look younger.
Is this a good thing or a bad thing?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, everyone want to look young in the society. Some people like to follow trends and some are comparing themseleves with other. For this purpose, they are spending a lot of money on beauty products and medical treatments as well. In my opinion, it totally depends on the personal choice whether they are happy with their real age or want to look younger.
On one hand, the trend to look younger is becoming more popular. People take anti-aging supplements to look younger. Adding to it, many actors have gone through plastic surgery many times, just to keep their face intact. Nobody really care about the pain and suffering they have to bear during these surgeries. Meanwhile, beauty specialists have made it a business to recommend surgeries just to look good and acceptable in society. Many people take pills and injection to get slim faster.
On the other hand, young generation is happy to accept its age and following the trend to look adult. For instance, My younger brother have coloured his hair grey, just to look adult. They are adapting natural ways like daily exercises and yoga to keep them fit and fine. Nowadays, gyms are available everywhere, and offer student, as well as adult discounts on memberships. People always have option to prefer natural ways to look young rather than medications.
To conclude, people want to look young always and taking help of supplements and treatments to fulfil this purpose. However, more natural methods are available in the society to keep fit and underage. In my opininion, it still depends on people's choice that how they want to survive, by just looking fit from outer or heal their body from inside.
