Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this contemporary world, everything is feasible by increasing spending power. People are investing thousands of dollars on beauty products and engaging themselves in medications such as, lip enlargement, eyebrows shape, eyelashes curl etc. In my view point, this is a good measure for a beautiful self. This essay will discuss about advantages and disadvantages along with opinion in the following paragraphs.

First and foremost, beauty and youngness brings confidence in one. Which can lead to more career opportunities and prospects. Additionally, there are some professions which demands beauty such as, actors, air hostess, makeup artist. These therapies and items can open the pathway to build career.

Secondly, "Age is just a number", it contributes to stay juvenile. Moreover, It keeps the high profile personalities to stay popular and glow up. For instances, Ms Rekha, she is an actor of Indian cinema and at the age of 70 years she got a role of main heroine lead in a film. Aa she did her face rejuvenate cells and her skin look like 20 years old girl.

Last but not the least, these steps are consist of high chemicals for body and skin and are expensive. In addition to that, some of them are really painful and dangerous for health. For example, laser hair removal treatment, According to a study laser treatment can cause high risk of damage on eye-sight.

In conclusion to this essay, the pros of operating these goods outweigh the cons. However, we can minimize the consequence by taking proper consideration of measures. From my perspective, it helps to build self-assurance and boast career prospects which has more positive outcomes than negative. overall, these outweigh the benefits.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of anti-aging products and treatments, and clearly states an opinion in the introduction and conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the discussion on careers touches upon actors and air hostesses, but the explanations lack depth and rely on sweeping generalizations. The example of Ms Rekha is relevant and personal, but the argument remains underdeveloped in terms of broader societal impacts. Overall, the task is addressed with a clear position maintained throughout, aligning well with the Band 6 descriptors.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay is divided into logical paragraphs, beginning with an introduction, followed by body paragraphs addressing advantages and disadvantages, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used to signal progression, such as 'First and foremost', 'Secondly', and 'Last but not the least'. However, some referencing is unclear, such as starting a sentence with a relative clause ('Which can lead to more career opportunities') and the abrupt transition in 'Aa she did her face rejuvenate cells'. Paragraphing is present, but overall cohesion feels mechanical at times. This performance fits comfortably at Band 6.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

The writer attempts less common vocabulary such as 'contemporary world', 'feasible', 'spending power', and 'self-assurance'. However, there are noticeable inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'youngness' instead of 'youth', 'eyebrows shape' instead of 'eyebrow shaping', 'medications' instead of 'procedures' or 'treatments', and 'boast career prospects' instead of 'boost career prospects'. Spelling and word-formation errors do not completely impede communication, allowing the reader to follow the argument, which places the lexical range at a Band 5.5, rounding to Band 6 for adequate task coverage.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The text displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but grammatical control is inconsistent. There are several noticeable errors, such as fragment sentences ('Which can lead to more career opportunities and prospects'), subject-verb agreement issues ('some professions which demands'), awkward phrasing ('these steps are consist of high chemicals'), and tense confusion ('as she did her face rejuvenate cells'). Punctuation is also faulty in places, particularly with run-on sentences and incorrect comma splices. While communication is not severely impeded, the frequency of errors prevents the score from reaching Band 6.
