Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response clearly presents a position that the trend is a great development, identifying the advancement of technology and medical procedures as key reasons. However, the text is significantly under-length at only 155 words, failing to reach the 250-word minimum requirement. This severe limitation prevents the adequate development of ideas, leaving arguments underdeveloped and truncated, particularly with the abrupt ending mid-sentence. Under the band descriptors, this partial address of the task constraints and incomplete development aligns closely with a Band 5, where ideas are limited and the task is only partially satisfied.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay demonstrates some basic organization, separating the introduction, skin care body paragraph, and the start of the cosmetic surgery paragraph. However, because the text stops abruptly, overall progression is severely disrupted. Cohesive devices such as 'For instance' and 'The emergence of' are used appropriately to introduce examples, but referencing and logical flow are undermined by the incomplete final sentence ('...one is old age,'). Paragraphing is initiated but not maintained for a full response. Overall, the structural framework shows basic coherence, fitting the Band 5 descriptor where there is some organization but an inability to complete a full progression of ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a range of vocabulary relevant to the topic, including terms like 'rapid evolution', 'augument' (augment), 'headway', and 'cosmectic' (cosmetic). There are several spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'cather' instead of 'cater', 'lisenced' instead of 'licensed', and informal phrasing like 'boob job' instead of 'breast augmentation'. Despite these inaccuracies, the vocabulary is generally adequate to convey basic meaning. This performance matches Band 5, which features a limited but minimally adequate range with noticeable spelling errors that occasionally require the reader to interpret intent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The text contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as 'The rapid evolution of the world has made it viable for people to purchase...' There are several grammatical errors and typos, including subject-verb agreement issues ('why its a great development', 'serveral reason contributes'), and spelling errors ('augument', 'lisenced'). Furthermore, the response trails off incompletely at the end. However, many basic sentences are constructed accurately, and meaning is generally clear despite the errors. This level of grammatical control and accuracy reflects Band 5, featuring a limited range of structures and frequent errors in complex attempts.
