Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

The response addresses all parts of the task, presenting a clear position that anti-ageing treatments are a positive development. Main ideas are introduced regarding self-confidence and economic growth, which fulfills the basic requirements well. However, some ideas are under-developed rather than fully extended. For instance, the discussion on economic growth mentions scientific research and creams tightening skin, but the argument remains somewhat generalized and lacks deeper exploration of wider socio-economic impacts. The response fully satisfies the criteria for the lower band by covering both parts of the prompt, while showing elements of the next band through a clear overall stance and relevant supporting arguments.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, demonstrating logical sequencing throughout. Cohesive devices are used to guide the reader, such as 'To begin with' and 'Furthermore', which indicates a clear structure. However, referencing and cohesion are occasionally faulty or mechanical; for example, the concluding sentence 'Therefore, people living a more happier life' lacks a main verb and disrupts the logical flow. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately, maintaining a logical progression of ideas from psychological benefits to economic advantages, which comfortably secures the current band while pointing towards more flexible cohesive control.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The writer uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'anti-ageing treatments', 'non-invasive procedures', and 'economic growth'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text that reflect limitations in lexical control. Examples include 'accessable' instead of accessible, 'appreance' instead of appearance, 'concious' instead of conscious, and 'invaasive' instead of invasive. While these errors do not seriously impede overall communication, their frequency prevents the response from achieving a higher band. The vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey the intended meaning, but precision and correct word forms need improvement.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing relative clauses and conditional structures. There are several grammatical errors and punctuation issues present, such as comma splices and incorrect prepositions, including 'concious to how they look' instead of conscious of, and 'starts buidling wrinkels of their face' instead of on their face. Furthermore, subject-verb agreement issues appear, such as 'these product support' and 'a cream ... will be having good response'. Despite these errors, they rarely impede communication entirely. The writing successfully meets the lower band requirements by offering a workable mix of sentence structures, while errors persist that keep it from reaching higher proficiency.
