Student answer (Band 5.5)

Due to advancement of technology, it is possible for majority of people either buy products or pay for treatments which assist them to look younger. I think this is not good not only for their skin but also this is wastage of money.

In the one hand, nowadays many people search different types of products through internet and apply on their skin without any doctor or physician recommended to look younger. For example, girls apply different types of makeup products on face in their daily or during any functions. After removing sometimes their skin is red or rashes on the face which leave the permanent dark spots on face. As a result, their face become dull.

Moreover, during any functions or parties people prefer to use artifical products to look more beautiful rather than others. For instance, people prefer going to not only salon but also beauty parlour to do facial however, they do not know the products which are used on their face that is good or not. that beauty is temporary and sometimes they face problems after that. As a consequence, people may reduce their permanent beauty after applying these products on face. Additonally, beauty products too much expensive and it is not afford by every people. Sometimes individulas buy products after seeing their frinds as well as family members temporary beauty.

In conclusion, permanent beauty is a good which is god gifted. To look younger treatments and buy products for this is lose their permanent beauty and wastage of both time and money.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you consider products and treatments for looking younger harmful and wasteful. You support this with relevant concerns about skin reactions, temporary results, and expense, including examples involving makeup and salon treatments. However, the response only partly addresses the question because it focuses mainly on possible harms and does not explain whether any benefits might make these choices worthwhile. Several claims are also asserted rather than developed—for example, that products can cause permanent dark spots or reduce natural beauty. To strengthen the response, explain the reasoning behind these effects, use a specific example, and make the distinction between products and paid treatments clearer.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, and the ideas generally relate to your negative position. You also use linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “For instance,” and “As a consequence.” However, progression within the body paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow: the discussion moves from makeup reactions to parties, salons, cost, and copying others without clearly showing how each point connects. Some linking phrases are awkward or repetitive, and “In the one hand” does not correctly introduce a contrast. Organise each paragraph around one main reason, then explain and illustrate it before moving on. Clearer references would also help readers identify what “that beauty” refers to.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “treatments,” “permanent dark spots,” “temporary,” and “beauty products,” so the reader can understand the general subject. However, the range is limited and several phrases are inaccurate or unnatural, which sometimes makes the meaning less clear. Examples include “permanent beauty,” “artifical products,” “it is not afford by every people,” and “temporary beauty.” Spelling errors such as “Additonally,” “individulas,” and “frinds” also affect accuracy. Aim for more precise expressions and check spelling carefully. For instance, distinguish between cosmetic products and medical procedures, and use natural collocations such as “afford these products” or “skin irritation.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer structures, including “not only … but also” and clauses introduced by “which” and “that,” but these are often not controlled accurately. Errors occur in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction: “it is possible for majority of people either buy” needs a different verb pattern, while “their face become dull” has a subject–verb agreement error. The sentence beginning “that beauty is temporary” is also not properly connected to the preceding sentence. Most sentences rely on simple patterns, and errors can make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Practise building accurate complex sentences, especially with infinitives, relative clauses, and coordinated clauses, then proofread for agreement and sentence boundaries.
