Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address the question by presenting both benefits and drawbacks, including confidence, employment, treatment costs and possible health risks. However, the task asks whether this is a good or bad thing, and your position remains unclear: “it has both positive or negative impact” does not establish which view you support or how you weigh the two sides. Several points are listed rather than explained; for example, the link between appearance treatments and “good career opportunity” is not illustrated or developed. The conclusion repeats advantages and disadvantages instead of giving a definite answer. The response is also 15 words below the required minimum. To strengthen the response, state a clear overall opinion, explain a few relevant reasons in depth, and support them with specific examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: you introduce the topic, discuss advantages, present disadvantages and add a conclusion. This gives the reader a general sense of the intended structure. However, the progression within the body is difficult to follow because many separate ideas are joined in one long sentence, especially the section beginning “when we observe their merit side.” The contrast markers “on the other hand” and “conclusion” help, but other links are unclear or inaccurate, and the conclusion repeats points without synthesising them. Paragraphing is also limited, with the main ideas crowded together. Use separate paragraphs for the introduction, each side of the argument and the conclusion, and connect each paragraph’s ideas with clear, accurate transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “treatment,” “confidence,” “skin cancer,” and “allergic,” so the reader can identify the subject and several concerns. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning difficult to interpret. For example, “it’s worked for the individual” does not clearly express that products are available, and “highly costed treatment” is not a natural way to describe expense. Repetition of “help,” “it,” and “opportunities” also limits precision. Aim to use more exact topic vocabulary and check common word partnerships. For instance, describe treatments as “expensive” or “costly,” and refer to “potential health risks” rather than listing symptoms unclearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to express several connected ideas and use some contrast structures, such as “on the other hand,” but sentence forms are limited and many sentences contain frequent grammatical errors that make the relationships between ideas hard to follow. Examples include “it help the people,” “it builds a good career opportunity,” and “if people had get risk,” where verb forms and agreement are not controlled. The long sentence beginning “when we observe their merit side” also lacks clear sentence boundaries and punctuation. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using clauses such as “because” and “although.” Check subject–verb agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence punctuation before submitting.
