Student answer (Band 5.5)
In recent decades, the usage of expensive beauty products and services are increase rapidly due to any individual want to look more younger than their ages. The hope for looking beautiful is not an awful thing but overuse of these products can create many issues and, there are a lot of new companies and brands introducing new beauty products and services because of increasing demand.
Every individual has their own personality, and beauty does not affect them. I think looking younger than your age is sometime satisfy individual but some people buy high priced anti aging creams and due to overuse of these creams caused skin problems. For instance, some anti aging creams and treatments have harmful substances, and when they stop to using these things, their skin cannot survive without creams and treatments. As a result, they looked older than their ages.
On the other hand, many companies start to produce expensive anti-aging products and treatments. They influenced people by advertisment and hire celebrities for promotion of their products. Because of excessive use of social media, people easily influenced by them especially female and buy their expensive products. After using, they feel glow in thier skins, so they start to purchasing these regularly. This is good for organizations but not good for people. People can care their skins by using natural products and this can their money and time. For example, many people use tumeric and honey and make skin care routine for looking fresh and young.
In conclusion, overuse of any artifical things which contains chemical substances can damage the skins. Sometimes this is good like once in a month but not very often.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your response addresses the question and gives a discernible view: looking younger can be acceptable in moderation, but excessive use of products and treatments is harmful. You support this with relevant points about skin problems, advertising, and natural alternatives such as turmeric and honey. However, the position is not fully consistent: the opening says the hope of looking beautiful is “not an awful thing,” while the conclusion says it is good only “once in a month,” without explaining this limit. Some ideas also need fuller development, particularly how treatments may harm the skin and why natural products are preferable. Explain the reasoning more precisely and connect each example directly to your judgement.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting concerns, and a conclusion. The contrast signalled by “On the other hand” helps introduce the role of companies and advertising, while “For instance” and “As a result” show attempts to connect examples and consequences. However, the progression is sometimes unclear: the first body paragraph moves from personality to satisfaction and then to skin damage without a clear link, and the second combines advertising, consumer behaviour, company benefits, and natural remedies. Some references, such as “these things,” are not fully precise. Organise each paragraph around one main point and use clearer links between the claim, explanation, and example.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “anti-aging creams,” “harmful substances,” “excessive use,” “advertising,” and “promotion.” These choices make the subject clear, and you attempt some less common expressions. However, inaccurate word choice, collocation, and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less natural: “the usage of expensive beauty products,” “their skin cannot survive without creams,” and “care their skins” are examples. There are also spelling errors such as “advertisment,” “thier,” and “artifical.” Aim for more natural combinations and check spelling carefully; for example, use “use beauty products,” “become dependent on creams,” and “look after their skin.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “when they stop to using these things” and a cause-and-effect sentence beginning “Because of excessive use of social media.” However, control is uneven, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction are frequent enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “the usage … are increase rapidly” has incorrect agreement and verb form, while “some people buy … and due to overuse … caused skin problems” does not form a complete, well-connected structure. “People easily influenced by them” also needs a finite verb. Practise building accurate clauses first, then combine them using conjunctions and check tense and subject–verb agreement.
