Student answer (Band 5.0)
People buy many product or pay for treatments that help them to look younger. According to me it is a bad thing because there are many reasons i will discuss in this eassy. The first reason is chemical reaction because strong chemicals are not good for humans skin. It look good for sometime but after some years , when we see result it was very bad . Example - if a person use new products every day this is not good for a person who use it daily because these products are made with bad chemicals . sometimes it burn our skin . If we talk about face treatments ; some people who can do face treatments , firstly it is very costly and it can affect our skin easily . It can good for some years but at the end it damage our skin . if we eat halthy food and take care our body and skin then we donot need to use any kind of product and take treatments for the skin .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You clearly state your view—“it is a bad thing”—and give relevant reasons, including possible skin damage and the high cost of treatments. The example of using products every day also supports your concern about harmful effects. However, the response addresses the task only partially: the reasons are asserted rather than explained in depth, and there is little development of the wider effects or a specific example. The final suggestion to eat healthily and care for the skin is relevant but not expanded. The response is 165 words, so it is 85 words below the required minimum; this leaves too little space to develop and support your position fully. Add a further reason or example and explain each point more clearly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic sequence: you introduce your opinion, give concerns about products and treatments, and finish with an alternative approach. Linking phrases such as “The first reason” and “If we talk about” help signal the topic of each point. However, the response is presented as one long paragraph, so the main ideas are not clearly separated, and the overall progression is limited. Several links are repetitive or awkward, while the repeated use of “because” and “but” makes connections between claims feel mechanical. For example, the shift from chemical effects to treatment costs could be made clearer with a separate paragraph and a direct transition. Organise the response into an introduction, developed body paragraphs, and a conclusion, with each paragraph focused on one reason.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough basic vocabulary to communicate your main concerns, including “chemical reaction,” “costly,” “affect our skin,” and “healthy food.” These choices are relevant to the topic, but the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “skin,” “products,” and “good.” Some expressions are imprecise or unnatural, such as “it can good for some years” and “when we see result it was very bad,” which make parts of the argument harder to follow. Spelling errors such as “eassy,” “halthy,” and “donot” also reduce accuracy. Build a wider set of topic-specific terms and check spelling; for instance, distinguish between skincare products, cosmetic procedures, side effects, and long-term damage.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with reasons, such as “If we eat healthy food and take care our body and skin then we donot need…” This shows an effort to connect ideas, but the range remains limited and complex sentences are often faulty. Errors include subject–verb agreement in “It look good,” missing or incorrect verb forms in “it can good” and “a person use,” and tense inconsistency in “when we see result it was very bad.” Articles and plurals are also frequently inaccurate, as in “many product” and “humans skin.” Punctuation and capitalisation are inconsistent, particularly after full stops. Practise accurate present-tense patterns and check each sentence for a clear subject, verb, and appropriate article.
