Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to provide a constructive feedback regarding my recent experience with your organisation.

Let me explain, My name is Max and I am living in ludhiana. On last Saturday I have shifted to Ludhiana from Moga. For shifting my all stuff I booked your company. I has alot of furniture such as king size bed, sofa, two almirah, dining table and a coffee table. In the beginning I was worried about moving my furniture because the furniture is brand new. However, the employee shift all the things with proper care. Even after shifting I do not find a single scratch on anything, which was very important to me.

Your employee even help me to load and unload the truck. Apart from this, they help me to settle every thing on the place at new apartment. He was very kind.

I am thrilled to receive such a good service but there was a problem in the truck. It was working at very low speed than other vehicles. As, it hardly take 40 minutes to travel from Moga to Ludhiana but the truck took 2 hours which wasted my time. According to me, the truck needs regular service please pay attention towards the condition of the truck.

I trust that you will take my feedback into consideration and use it to enhance the quality of your service.

Yours faithfully,

Max

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

The letter covers all three requested points and maintains an appropriate, polite purpose. You explain that the furniture arrived without scratches, describe the employee’s help with loading, unloading and arranging items, and identify the slow truck as a problem. These details make the feedback relevant and clear. The praise is less fully developed than the account of the furniture’s condition: “He was very kind” is general, and it is not clear which employee you mean after referring to “they.” To strengthen the response, identify the employee and explain one specific action that made their help particularly valuable. The complaint is clear, though a brief indication of how the delay affected your move would make the point more fully supported.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a clear overall progression: it introduces the purpose, describes the successful parts of the move, then raises a concern and closes politely. Paragraphing helps distinguish these functions, and linking expressions such as “However,” “Apart from this” and “but” guide the reader through the points. Some connections and references are less controlled. “Your employee even help me” is followed by “they” and then “He,” making it unclear whether you mean one person or several. The opening “Let me explain” also interrupts the formal flow, while “As” before the travel-time comparison does not connect the sentence accurately. Use consistent pronouns and simpler, more direct transitions to make the progression smoother.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range for a service-feedback letter, including relevant terms such as “constructive feedback,” “proper care,” “single scratch,” and “regular service.” The vocabulary communicates both satisfaction and dissatisfaction, and the reader can understand the main points. However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “shifted” for moving house, “my all stuff,” “settle every thing on the place,” and “working at very low speed than other vehicles.” There are also spelling and form issues such as “alot” and “every thing.” Aim for more natural phrases associated with removals and vehicle performance, and check compound words and spelling. This would make the letter sound more precise and professional.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, for example, “Even after shifting I do not find a single scratch on anything, which was very important to me.” The meaning is generally understandable, but some errors in tense, agreement, articles and sentence construction remain. Examples include “I has alot,” “the employee shift,” and “Your employee even help,” where the verb forms do not agree with the subject or intended time. “On last Saturday I have shifted” also combines an incorrect preposition with an unsuitable tense. The sentence beginning “As, it hardly take 40 minutes” is not grammatically well formed. Review past-tense forms for completed events, subject–verb agreement, and punctuation around introductory clauses. More accurate control of these patterns would improve clarity.
