Dear Sir or Madam,
Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Sir,
I am writing this to express my gratitude for the best service you offered that made my move in a lot easier and faster than expected.
Being new to this place it was really difficult for me to find everything from moving truck to
helpers , your company made sure everything was secured in a cardboard and safely transported. All my belongings are in the perfect condition ;no damages found.I cannot thank enough for this as it seemed almost impossible for me to deal with it all alone.
Moreover I would like to specially thank your best employee Sam who managed to assist me to organise my place within one day and it makes me feel so relieved and I can now enjoy my coffee and have my work table corner all set for the monday.
Just a bit of advice moving forward if you can communicate in a timely manner as I found that while trying to book your services ,I didnot get immediate responses and support needed. So if you can improve on that, it would be great.
I would definitely recommend your company to my friends and family who are planning to move out.
Yours Faithfully,
Vishwa

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You address all three points clearly: you describe the safe transport and undamaged belongings, praise Sam’s help arranging the apartment, and identify delayed communication during booking as a concern. The positive tone and recommendation to friends make your purpose clear throughout. The details about having your work-table corner ready and being able to enjoy coffee help make the praise personal, although the explanation of what went well is somewhat general and could include a specific example of the movers’ efficiency or care. The complaint is also brief; explaining how the delayed replies affected your arrangements would develop it further. Overall, the task is fully addressed, with relevant ideas that are supported but not always extended in depth.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The letter has a clear progression: an opening statement of thanks, a paragraph about the move, praise for Sam, a constructive criticism, and a closing recommendation. Paragraphing helps the reader distinguish these purposes, and transitions such as “Moreover” and “So” connect the ideas. The sequence is easy to follow, though some links feel slightly mechanical, and the long sentence about Sam combines several ideas that would be clearer if divided. The opening and closing are appropriate for a formal letter, but the salutation shifts from the requested “Dear Sir or Madam” to “Dear Sir.” Keep the requested form and use punctuation consistently to make the presentation more polished.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary to express appreciation and describe the service, including “safely transported,” “belongings,” “assist,” and “recommend.” The wording communicates your meaning, and the personal details give the letter a warm tone. However, some choices are imprecise or unnatural: “the best service you offered” is an awkward way to praise the company, while “everything was secured in a cardboard” does not clearly describe the packing. “Specially thank” is also less natural in this context than “particularly thank.” Check spelling and word forms such as “didnot” and “monday,” and aim for more precise collocations when describing the packing and booking process.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, including the conditional request “if you can communicate in a timely manner” and the relative clause “who managed to assist me.” Most of the message remains understandable, but some grammatical and punctuation errors are present. For example, “it makes me feel so relieved and I can now enjoy” shifts tense after “managed,” and “I cannot thank enough” is missing an object such as “you.” The sentence beginning “Being new to this place” also needs clearer construction, while punctuation spacing is inconsistent in “condition ;no damages found.” Review tense consistency, sentence boundaries, and punctuation to make your varied structures more accurate.
