Student answer (Band 7.0)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing in response to your recent request for feedback on the moving services you provided for our belongings.
It was an amazing experience that we used your company for moving. The packaging and handling of delicate items, such as a TV and a glass table, were so smooth that they reassured our trust in your services.
Additionally, Ginny, the team lead, was so helpful in guiding the team and taking the initiative to take care of our requirements and made sure he had all the supplies needed for the move.
Despite having a great ground team, I would like to bring to your attention a bad customer experience. The moving truck had some mechanical issues and I had to call customer service to get the support so that truck can be fixed on time. However, they delayed a lot in getting the truck repaired.
Thank you for your services and I hope to see a good impact of this feedback on your customer service department and I hope to get a quick resolution next time.
Yours sincerely,
Binny

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The letter successfully addresses all three bullet points required by the prompt. You clearly explain the positive aspects of the move, identify a specific employee for praise, and outline a negative experience regarding the mechanical issues with the truck. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter of feedback. The ideas are relevant and sufficiently developed to meet the requirements of the task. To reach a higher band, you could provide slightly more detail regarding the specific 'mechanical issues' or the impact of the delay to further strengthen the development of your ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The letter is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs for each point, and a concluding sentence. Paragraphing is used effectively to separate the different aspects of the feedback. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Additionally' and 'Despite', which help the flow of the text. However, the transition between the positive experience and the negative experience could be smoother. The referencing is generally clear, and the overall progression of ideas is easy to follow throughout the letter.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your message clearly. Phrases like 'reassured our trust' and 'taking the initiative' are used appropriately. There are some minor collocation issues, such as 'delayed a lot in getting the truck repaired' (a more natural phrasing would be 'there was a significant delay in repairing the truck'). While the vocabulary is adequate for the task, incorporating a few more precise or sophisticated terms would elevate the response to a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, and your meaning is consistently clear. There are a few minor grammatical slips, such as 'it was an amazing experience that we used your company' (which should be 'it was an amazing experience to use your company') and 'get the support so that truck can be fixed' (which should be 'get support so that the truck could be fixed'). Despite these occasional errors, your control of grammar is good, and the errors do not impede communication.
