Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing this letter to give my feedback about service which I received from the removal company furniture to move my home furniture.
firstly, I would like to say thank you so much for service, it makes my day more convenient in moving. Moreover, I was warried about my all heavy furniture, how I will move them, as I am new in this area. In addition to that, everything went perfect on that day with moving.
However, your employee who came to assist me, that is really appreciated because they moved really heavy furniture, and they also help me in my other heavy stuff as well. As I have to change my city to new city, it was hard, that it took whole day. But your team was hard working and they have management skills as well.
Just one thing for that I was not satisfied, during the moving one of my favorite thing which was broken, was my study desk. One leg is broken due to not handling carefully. Overall, the help was great.
Thank you so much for your team support and efforts.
Kind regards,
ritika

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task: explaining what went well, praising an employee, and mentioning a negative aspect. Your tone is appropriate for a formal letter. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention that the move went well, you could have provided more specific details about the efficiency of the process. Similarly, the complaint about the broken desk is a bit brief. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully extended with more descriptive language and specific examples to demonstrate a more comprehensive response to the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. You use some basic cohesive devices such as 'firstly', 'moreover', and 'however' to transition between ideas. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some referencing is unclear, such as in the sentence 'your employee who came to assist me, that is really appreciated'. Improving the variety of your linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents would enhance the overall cohesion of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your message, but it is somewhat repetitive and basic. Phrases like 'everything went perfect' and 'hard working' are common and lack precision. There are also some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'my all heavy furniture' instead of 'all my heavy furniture' and 'one of my favorite thing' instead of 'things'. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to moving services and express your satisfaction or dissatisfaction with more nuanced adjectives and adverbs.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'I was warried' (spelling), 'how I will move them' (word order), and 'one of my favorite thing which was broken, was my study desk' (punctuation and agreement). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are noticeable and occur frequently. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct word order in indirect questions, and ensuring that your punctuation supports the clarity of your complex sentences.
