Student answer (Band 7.0)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to provide my feedback on your company’s moving service. I recently moved from Ottawa to Toronto on last sunday September 2, 2026.
Firstly, the moving was smooth and everything was taken care of. The coordination between the packing team and transport team was excellent. They packed my entire furniture and cockery from kitchen in couple of hours and packed them professionally in card board boxes. I was living on 11th floor in the building, and moving furniture from building and loading it in a truck was not an easy task.
Secondly, I would like to mention your employee named as Raj. He was friendly and explained all the procedures. He answered my questions quickly and made sure I was aware with each step. I was impressed with the fact that he has recently started working and already received a promotion. His hard work and dedication was visible that day.
Furthermore, I was disappointed with not having a payment option using a credit or debit card. I strongly believe that having an online payment option will boost your business in new horizon. Should you require more details or documentation about my moving, I am happy to assist your further.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
Neel Desai.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
You have successfully addressed all three bullet points in the prompt. You clearly explained the positive aspects of the move, provided specific praise for an employee, and identified a clear area for improvement regarding payment methods. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter of feedback. The ideas are well-developed and the purpose of the letter is clear from the beginning. To reach a higher band, ensure that all details are fully accurate; for instance, ensure the tone remains consistently professional throughout the closing remarks.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The letter is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs for each point, and a formal conclusion. You have used transition signals such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'Furthermore' to guide the reader through your points. Paragraphing is used effectively to separate distinct ideas. The progression of ideas is smooth, and the referencing is generally clear. To improve, ensure that cohesive devices are used with more variety, as the current structure is slightly mechanical.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your message clearly. Phrases like 'coordination between the packing team' and 'hard work and dedication' are effective. However, there are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'cockery' (crockery) and 'new horizon' (new horizons). Additionally, 'aware with each step' should be 'aware of each step'. While these errors do not impede communication, they prevent the use of vocabulary from reaching a higher band level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. Most of your sentences are clear and easy to follow. There are some grammatical slips, such as 'I recently moved... on last sunday' (remove 'on'), 'packed my entire furniture' (should be 'all my furniture'), and 'I was living on 11th floor' (should be 'the 11th floor'). Despite these occasional errors, your meaning is always clear, and the grammar does not interfere with the reader's understanding of your feedback.
