Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task: explaining what went well, praising an employee, and mentioning a negative aspect. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention a negative experience with an employee dragging furniture, the letter lacks a formal conclusion or a clear request for how the company should address this issue, which is standard for a formal letter of feedback. The tone is also slightly inconsistent; while it attempts to be formal, the phrasing is occasionally too conversational. To improve, ensure you provide a clear opening and closing that fits the professional context of a complaint or feedback letter.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your narrative. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite limited and sometimes mechanical. Phrases like 'At the beginning' and 'But later' are used to transition, but the flow between sentences within paragraphs is occasionally disjointed. For example, the transition between the negative experience and the positive praise could be smoother. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'that was a relieving moment', where the antecedent is slightly ambiguous. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring clear logical progression between ideas will help elevate your score.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your experience clearly. You use some descriptive language, such as 'relieving moment' and 'roughly', which helps convey your feelings. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'choose your company' (should be 'chose'), 'wrench my heart' (a bit dramatic/unnatural in this context), and 'replace him' (should be 'relieved him'). To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing. Expanding your range to include more specific professional vocabulary related to moving services would also be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. Common issues include tense inconsistencies (e.g., 'I choose' instead of 'I chose'), subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'one of your employe just came and start'), and missing articles or incorrect prepositions (e.g., 'in new apartment'). While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar prevent the writing from being considered 'error-free'. To improve, focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and ensuring consistent verb tenses throughout your writing.
