Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing this to give some feedback about the service I recieved last week from your company. I booked your company service through online to move my furniture and things to my new apartment. I have to say it was one of the best service I ever recieved from any removal company.
Firstly, I would say the exceptional thing about your service is the vehicle you provided for moving. It was really big and spacious. Therefore, It was easy for me to keep a lot of possessions and furtinure together. Moreover, the van divided with two separate compartments which was helpful to kept breakable and unbreakable things separately.
Another thing I would like to mention is the employee who came to help me for moving. His name was Anam and he was particularly kind and polite. Sometimes employees get frustrated on work but, Anam's behavior towards me was very nice and friendly. He helped me to lift heavy furtinure.
Finally, I would like to mention one more thing which I didn't like about the service was the timing. This is because I booked the service timing 10 a.m. in morning. However, the team showed up at 11 a.m. which was bit late. As a result, I got late for my work.
I hope you could take this feedback seriously and try to improve the things I mentioned.
Thank you for your service.
Yours faithfully,
Kajal Sharma.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You successfully cover all parts of the bullet points required by the task prompt. You begin by explaining what went well on the day you moved house, highlighting the large and spacious vehicle. You then effectively praise an employee named Anam, noting his polite behaviour and assistance with heavy furniture. Finally, you clearly mention the aspect of the service you were not happy with, which was the removal team arriving an hour late. Your letter is polite, natural, and maintains an appropriate tone throughout. The purpose of the letter is immediately clear, and all necessary details are well-developed and addressed logically, fulfilling the requirements for a Band 7.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
Your letter has a clear overall logical organization, moving smoothly from the opening statement to specific praises, then to the complaint, and finally to a polite closing remark. You make good use of cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Moreover', 'Another thing', and 'Finally' to sequence your ideas. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different points, making the letter easy to read and follow. While some transitions are a bit formulaic, referencing is generally clear throughout, which aligns well with the descriptors for a Band 7.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to communicate your message clearly and with some precision. You use appropriate phrases such as 'exceptional thing', 'separate compartments', and 'behavior towards me'. However, there are a few spelling and word choice errors, such as 'recieved' instead of 'received', 'furtinure' instead of 'furniture', and the phrase 'service timing 10 a.m. in morning' which is slightly unnatural. Despite these occasional inaccuracies, your vocabulary is adequate for the task and does not impede communication, supporting a Band 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as 'Therefore, It was easy for me to keep a lot of possessions and furtinure together' and 'This is because I booked the service timing 10 a.m. in morning.' There are some noticeable grammatical errors and awkward phrasing, including 'I booked your company service through online', 'the van divided with two separate compartments' (missing passive voice 'was divided'), and 'I got late for my work'. Punctuation is also occasionally clumsy, such as the double comma in 'work but, Anam's behavior'. These errors occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score, placing your performance firmly at a Band 6.0.
