Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response successfully covers all the bullet points required by the task prompt. You clearly explained what went well by praising the helpful staff members, highlighted a specific employee who assisted with packing and arranged things according to vastu, and mentioned the negative aspect regarding the late truck and the driver's long route. The tone is appropriate for a semi-formal letter to a company. While the ideas are somewhat conversational and could be expanded with more detail to reach a higher band, all prompt requirements are met satisfactorily, fulfilling the descriptor requirements for a Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The letter has a clear overall arrangement with an introduction, body paragraphs addressing specific points, and a concluding remark. However, paragraphing is somewhat irregular, and cohesive devices are limited or occasionally faulty. For instance, transitional phrases between sentences are sparse, and some sentences run together without proper punctuation. Referencing is mostly clear, but the lack of flexible cohesive devices and basic paragraph structure keeps the performance at a Band 5.5. Using clearer transition words and separating ideas into distinct, well-managed paragraphs would greatly improve the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully communicating your meaning regarding the move. Words like 'experience', 'astrology', and 'possessions' show that you can use common and semi-formal terms. However, there are notable word choice and spelling errors, such as 'experiance', 'tensed', 'helpfull', and 'thankfull'. Furthermore, phrases like 'took such much time' demonstrate occasional inaccuracies that slightly hinder precision. Because the vocabulary is minimally adequate and contains frequent spelling slips, it aligns with a Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'the driver took long route instead of short one which took so much my time'. There are frequent grammatical and punctuation errors throughout the letter, including missing capitalisation (e.g., 'dear sir,', 'i am lovejeet kaur'), missing articles ('to new apartment'), and awkward verb tenses ('on the day of moved'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent enough to prevent the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic punctuation, capitalization, and article usage will yield immediate improvements.
