Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to give my feedback you asked for about the service your company provided recently.
First of all thank you for the service because everything went smooth without any issues. One aspect that I really likes to mention is everything went as planned on time.
A special appreciation should go to Guru, he guided all the workers in right direction and made sure he is available to all of them in lifting heavy furniture.
However, one of the service that I found unhappy is tire explosion in between the commute. Right front wheel's got flat and the driver had to take uber and bring the new one to replace. Even though that tire is replaced within less time, I believe that this can be done more easily if they carry an spare tire.
Overall, I found this service worth the money and I definitely recommend my friends and family members who are ooking for removal company.
Yours faithfully,
Guru

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response successfully covers all the bullet points required in the task instructions. You have explained what went well on the day of the move by noting that everything went according to plan and on time. You have also successfully praised a specific employee, mentioning Guru and his helpful role in guiding workers and handling heavy furniture. Furthermore, you mentioned an aspect of the service you were not happy with, specifically the tire explosion during the commute and the lack of a spare tire. The purpose of the letter is clear, and the tone is appropriate for a feedback letter. All parts of the prompt are addressed adequately, placing this comfortably within Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is logically organised with a clear beginning, middle, and end, following standard correspondence conventions. Paragraphing is used to separate different points, such as the positive aspects, the praise for the employee, and the complaint about the tire. Cohesive devices are used, although some transitions feel a bit basic or mechanical, such as 'First of all' and 'However, one of the service'. Referencing is generally clear, though minor cohesive errors appear in phrasing like 'one of the service that I found unhappy'. Overall, the logical progression is sufficient for a Band 6.0 rating.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your message clearly. You attempted some less common phrases like 'special appreciation', 'commute', and 'worth the money'. However, there are noticeable word-choice and collocation errors throughout the response, such as 'went smooth' instead of 'went smoothly', 'likes to mention' instead of 'would like to mention', and 'an spare tire' instead of 'a spare tire'. Spelling is generally accurate, but the lexical inaccuracies place this response at Band 5.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as conditional or concessive clauses ('Even though that tire is replaced within less time...'). There are several grammatical errors and awkward structures, including 'give my feedback you asked for' (missing relative pronoun), 'everything went smooth', and 'this can be done more easily if they carry an spare tire' (tense inconsistency and article error). While these errors are noticeable, they do not impede overall communication, supporting a Band 5.5 score.
