Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir,
I hope you are doing well in your life. Last month, I took service from your company for shifting. I shifted from Kishener to Toronto and now as you have asked for the honest feedback regarding your service. So there are several things which I definetely appreciate firstly my whole furniture and stuff comes in 3 truckes and they all are properly wrapped in bubble wrap so my furniture won't get hamper.
Another thing, I would like to mention Mr. John (delivery boy) service he is very cooperative and humble during the process. He make sure that my whole furniture should arrive properly and nicely. He also helped me in arranging the furniture even though that is not the part of your service.
I would like to draw your attention towards the slightest delay in delivery which I won't appreciate. Kindly work on that part and apart from that every thing is good.
Thank you
Tamanna

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The student covers all bullet points required by the task prompt: explaining what went well on the move day, praising a helpful employee, and mentioning an unsatisfactory aspect regarding the delivery delay. The tone is mostly appropriate for a semi-formal/formal complaint and feedback letter, although opening with Dear Sir (instead of Dear Sir or Madam) is a slight mismatch with the prompt instruction. The ideas are relevant and fulfill the communicative purpose of the letter, placing the response solidly at Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organised into logical paragraphs, with each paragraph addressing a distinct aspect of the prompt (the positive aspects, the employee praise, and the negative aspect). Cohesive devices are somewhat basic or faulty at times, such as the run-on sentence structure in the first paragraph ('So there are several things which I definetely appreciate firstly my whole furniture...'). Referencing is generally clear, but paragraphing and punctuation could be managed more carefully to enhance the flow of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully communicating details about moving furniture, wrapping, and delivery. However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors, such as 'definetely', 'truckes', 'hamper' (used where 'damage' or 'harmed' would be more natural), and 'slightest delay'. These errors do not impede communication, but they limit the score to Band 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar is inconsistent. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as tense shifts and non-standard verb forms ('my whole furniture and stuff comes', 'they all are properly wrapped', 'He make sure'). Punctuation is also weak, leading to run-on sentences without adequate full stops or commas. While the meaning remains clear, the frequency of errors places this response at Band 5.0.
