Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing this letter provide my feedbacks regarding the service i have recieved two weeks back for relocating household things.
Being a new to this locality, I was extremly worries about moving the whole furniture from one city to another. However, I am gald to get the booking conformation at short notice due to which your team not even assisted with trasporting the heavry boxes but also lend a help to organise and pack small thing.
I would like to mention especially one employee named as Sunny who went back and forth from parking alot to the 6th floor of our appartment to pick the delicate and antique stuff.
Although your all saff members have done great job the day of moving, one thing have disaapointed me that the carriage truck's size was not the same as we book. Because of less spacous and small in high we couldn't move all thing in one go which cost us almost double.
Kindly reassure the details before providing the service.
Looking forward to connect with wiht the hope of better services.
Regard,

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The candidate successfully covers all bullet points required by the task. The letter begins appropriately and explains what went well on the day, specifically noting the team's efficiency in booking and packing. Furthermore, the writer praises an employee named Sunny for his hard work carrying delicate items to the sixth floor, and clearly mentions an aspect of the service that caused dissatisfaction, namely the incorrect truck size resulting in extra costs. While the tone is mostly appropriate for a semi-formal/formal complaint letter, there are a few minor awkward phrasing instances. However, all communicative requirements of General Training Task 1 are fully met, earning a solid band score for task achievement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter follows a clear narrative structure with an appropriate opening and closing. Paragraphing is used to separate different aspects of the feedback, such as the initial worries, the employee praise, and the complaint regarding the truck. Cohesive devices like 'However', 'Although', and 'Because of' are employed to link ideas, although some transitions feel a bit mechanical or repetitive. Referencing is generally clear, though occasional minor cohesion faults appear around sentence boundaries. Overall, the message flows reasonably well and is easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The candidate demonstrates an adequate vocabulary range suitable for the task, attempting words like 'relocating', 'conformation', 'delicate', and 'dissapointed'. However, there are several noticeable spelling and word choice errors, such as 'feedbacks', 'recieved', 'extremly', 'worries' instead of 'worried', 'saff' instead of 'staff', and 'spacous'. Despite these lexical errors and typos, the meaning remains clear throughout the communication. The use of less common items shows ambition, but control is inconsistent, placing this comfortably in the band 6 range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, utilising clauses introduced by 'Being a new to this locality', 'Although your all saff members...', and 'Because of less spacous...'. There are frequent grammatical errors and awkward structures, such as missing articles ('Being a new', 'small thing'), incorrect prepositions, and verb form issues ('one thing have disaapointed me'). However, these errors rarely impede overall comprehension, and the reader can easily follow the sequence of events and the core complaint, which aligns well with the band 6 descriptors for grammar.
