Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to provide feedback for service I recently received from "Easy Movers Pvt Limited"
To begin with, I had my moving on last week which was done by the company. It was really impressive. Since none of the goods were damaged. Every furniture and belongings moved very carefully. The four employees handled in a professional manner. The next thing was my previous apartment had a limited space. Initially I was concerned about handling the goods. Fortunately, they were able to manage the space.
Furthermore, John helped specially to manage some hard situations. As an example there was a heavy sofa which had to move through the staircase. He gave clear directions to his team. Not only giving instructions but also helped a lot. I think he needs to be appreciated for his professional work.
Finally, the only drawback was the delay happened due to the moving truck's technical fault. It took 3 hours to fix which led to delay everything 3 hours back. In my opinion the vehicle was too old and had not received repairs recently.
I hope you will take this feedback into consideration. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to seeing positive changes in the future.
Yours faithfully,
Chamath.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You successfully covered all bullet points required in the task instructions. You clearly explained what went well on the day you moved house, praising the careful handling of goods and space management. You also successfully praised a specific employee, John, highlighting his leadership and assistance with the heavy sofa. Finally, you addressed the negative aspect of the service by mentioning the delay caused by the truck's technical fault. Your ideas are relevant and appropriate for a general task 1 letter. However, some points could have been slightly more extended for a higher band, but all parts of the prompt are fully addressed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
Your letter follows a clear logical organisation, moving smoothly from an introduction to the positive aspects, the employee praise, the negative aspect, and a polite conclusion. You used appropriate paragraphing for each main point. Cohesive devices are used throughout, such as 'To begin with', 'Furthermore', and 'Finally', although some of these transitional phrases are a bit formulaic. Referencing is generally clear, and the overall progression of ideas is easy to follow from the opening 'Dear Sir or Madam' to the closing sign-off.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrated an adequate range of vocabulary suitable for this letter, including words and phrases like 'professional manner', 'drawback', and 'technical fault'. There are some word choice and collocation inaccuracies, such as 'I had my moving on last week' instead of 'I moved house last week', and 'led to delay everything 3 hours back' instead of 'delayed everything by three hours'. While you attempted some less common vocabulary, these occasional errors indicate a solid Band 6 level for lexical resource.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You used a mix of simple and complex sentence structures in your letter. There are several instances of correct grammar, such as 'Fortunately, they were able to manage the space.' and 'I hope you will take this feedback into consideration.' However, you also made several grammatical errors, including 'provide feedback for service' (missing article), 'Every furniture and belongings moved' (subject-verb agreement error with singular/plural), and 'John helped specially to manage' (word order). These errors occur frequently enough to prevent you from reaching a higher band, but they rarely impede overall communication.
